@Ray234989766086@Handre Well, I don't think the professor should have any power over the students, and as a bonus he'd then be at much less risk of getting clubbed to death by them.
@jemmm85517813@SurrogConcern Be that as it may, the tweet to which I replied gave the impression that murders of babies by their adopters is a particularly bad problem, and to have any idea if this is really true we need to know how often such murders happen compared to murders by non-adoptive parents...
@lilyally98 Well, it obviously isn't a choice in Iran, where the authorities force it upon women in this horrible manner. There's no reason why it couldn't be a choice in a free country, however.
@jasoneccles@visegrad24@Mish_K_ That's a false analogy, though. The English are occupiers in Northern Ireland, but not in England. Jews, on the other hand, are occupiers *both* in Palestine *and* in Israel.
@SurrogConcern Three babies murdered by their adopters in ten years is certainly tragic. But to put this number into context: how many babies were murdered by their biological parents in the same period? (Honest question - I have no idea but it would be important to know for comparison.)
@Ray234989766086@Handre If the professors had been shorn of all power and authority, and reduced to mere optional providers of information, sort of like podcasters are, I doubt that any student would be keen on clubbing them with nails.
@Ray234989766086@Handre Maybe not exactly justified, but at least understandable, and probably cathartic. Ultimately, the problem is that professors have too much power over students - constantly telling them what to do and what not to do, etc.
@adityamtweets I don't see why we should allow the person who risked everything to reap any rewards. No need to encourage gambling and taking risks. If he didn't like the risk of losing, he shouldn't have invested in the first place.
@rok_kostomaj Podržavljenje podjetja je dobra in koristna zadeva, ker se bodo potem delavci v njem dosti bolje počutili kot pod tiranom, kakršen je Musk.
@Ray234989766086@Handre I'm not much into clubbing myself, but before condemning it in the case of the Cultural Revolution, one should ask oneself: why were the students so keen to club their professors? How did these professors treat them prior to the Revolution?
@ANickB85@TristinHopper If you don't drag him down to your own level quickly enough, you will end up subjected to him, same as we are subjected to the billionaires nowadays. Their decisions impact us, cause us incalculable harm, and we can't do anything about it.
@ANickB85@TristinHopper Envy is very rational. When someone else is better off than you, this also gives him more power to steer society in the direction of his interests and against yours.
@Catie1949@Handre In practice, people don't really have a choice; if you don't gargle the capitalists' balls, you starve to death. The libertarian insistence that it is a choice is one of the more tiresome aspects of their silly ideology.
