Florida Republicans back @ByronDonalds because he's the Trump-endorsed conservative who will beat the Democrats and their liberal high tax agenda this November.
If you want property tax reform in Florida.
Support FL DOGE.
This is now a critical mission to find enough waste and inefficiency that can be reasonably fixed, avoiding local budget crunches and allowing for cuts.
@EricLDaugh There is definitely enough money in waste, fraud, and inefficiencies to make changes to property taxes.
We re going to be releasing some FL DOGE findings soon.
The details still need to be worked out but there’s good starting points for sure.
Fort Myers, Florida.
While building and growth get all the attention in Florida, there is still natural beauty everywhere.
A good balance of both is the future of Florida.
To the men & women in uniform who serve our country, thank you.
To those who never came home. Thank you.
I saw this tribute the other day about a kid who posted in 2013 but never came back.
A few weeks before that, he retweeted Donald Trump.

Federal DOGE is exposing waste but states are launching their own DOGE inspired task forces and commissions to tackle it locally.
Over 25 states (FL, IA, OK, LA, TX, KS & more) have active programs.
Here are 10 real opportunities for savings already identified or achieved:
- Louisiana used DOGE-linked voter/residency data checks on Medicaid recipients and found $75 million/year being spent on non-residents. direct savings opportunity through better eligibility verification.
- Oklahoma’s DOGE-OK identified $157 million in duplicative, underutilized, or excessive federal health grants that can be returned without cutting services.
- GAO audit of 6 states (CA, GA, NY, PA, TN, TX) revealed $1.6 billion in potential overpayments/fraud from duplicate Medicaid/CHIP/APTC coverage across state lines in one year alone.
- HHS OIG found states made an estimated $207.5 million in unallowable Medicaid capitation payments to managed care organizations for already-deceased enrollees (2021-2022 data); preventable with better data matching.
- New Jersey’s Medicaid integrity efforts recoup roughly $100 million annually from fraud, overpayments, and wrongful payments (over $1 billion recovered in the last decade).
- Colorado’s third party liability coordination delivers ~$20 million quarterly savings on commercial insurance claims and ~$250 million quarterly on Medicare coordination; scalable nationwide.
- Kansas Medicaid audits identified over $16 million in provider overpayments plus $193 million paid to managed care for beneficiaries who used zero services for 12+ months.
- Florida’s state DOGE task force is using AI to audit agencies and local governments while targeting elimination of 70+ redundant boards/commissions for operational and spending efficiencies.
- Oklahoma DOGE flagged $8.48 billion in statutory exempt purchases, $190 million in high risk purchase card transactions, and $3 billion in off-contract spending; prime targets for bulk buying and renegotiation savings.
- State Medicaid Fraud Control Units (MFCUs) nationwide achieved $1.4 billion in recoveries in FY2024 alone (ROI of $3.46 recovered per $1 spent), showing proven returns from targeted fraud enforcement.
States applying DOGE style reviews, data matching, AI audits, and procurement reforms are unlocking hundreds of millions to billions in verifiable savings; proving efficiency works at the state level too.
DOGE was a successful program in DC and continues to be implemented at the agency level under the Trump administration.
Despite what the media says, DOGE is succeeding in Federal and State programs.
There is much more work to do but here are 10 examples of real DOGE success in DC:
- Uncovered $4.7 TRILLION in Treasury payments that had no tracking codes and were basically untraceable; now fixed so every payment must be properly categorized.
- Highlighted the absurd federal retirement process run on paper in a Pennsylvania limestone mine (230 feet underground); now being modernized to fully digital/online submissions. Big time and money savings.
- Found tens of thousands of unused software licenses across agencies (GSA alone had 37,000 WinZip licenses for 13,000 employees) ; deleted over 114,000 redundant ones, saving millions annually.
- Exposed $382M in fraudulent unemployment payments from DOL to fake claimants, including infants, people with future birthdates, and 115 year olds.
- Terminated hundreds of wasteful contracts for things like “larval fish monitoring,” foreign climate consultants, executive coaching, and DEI retreats; delivering billions in potential savings.
- Canceled leases on hundreds of vacant/underutilized federal buildings, unlocking over $170M in annual rent savings.
- Open sourced massive Medicaid datasets so the public can spot fraud (ie. largescale autism diagnosis scams in Minnesota).
- Launched the “Defend the Spend” system requiring justification, receipts, and proof for payments to stop unverified spending and fraud.
- Fixed the “is-alive”SSN flag loophole that was being exploited to steal benefits across multiple government programs.
- Cut redundant and absurd spending like $6M+ at DOD for University of Montana democracy bridging programs and other low value DEI/consulting grants.
DOGE is just beginning. I’ll talk more about state and local efforts in future posts.
