Russia is changing its sabotage tactics in Europe — Poland raises the alarm

According to Associated Press, Russian intelligence services are moving away from random online recruits and shifting to professional sabotage groups.

Polish officials say Moscow is now relying on organized crime, former military personnel, police officers, and mercenaries.

The operations include arson, sabotage, attacks on railways, and information warfare. Since the start of the war against Ukraine, more than 150 such incidents linked to Russia have been recorded across Europe.

Poland’s counterintelligence says that in 2024–2025 alone it has opened as many espionage cases as in all the decades since the collapse of the USSR.

Poland remains one of the main targets — as a key hub for military aid to Ukraine.
