Modders have found a way to access a full Windows desktop through NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW cloud gaming service.

The workaround uses a game called Trove and takes advantage of access available through its Steam session.
Once working, users can see the Windows desktop, taskbar and icons, and even launch other programs.

One demonstration showed LM Studio running an AI model on the GeForce NOW machine.

I occasionally still go there myself for common titles since iirc you can get a 1y warranty for discs for practically nothing.

Much of it is the usual slop titles doing this, though they do exist. There's also games with only part of the content on disc, or which crash on boot up but technically "have" the data in spite of it being bugged.

Ok in fairness, there actually ARE a decent number of late-life PS4 games with zero data on the disc, most are labeled as such but still very annoying given some of them are not online-only titles.

They are, when you download the game you're not downloading from the internet or whatever other place but from the disc itself. The entire game is there no matter what Sony does or doesn't
