My whole life I've adhered to the principle "Never pull a plug out of the wall by its cord." Today I decided I'm just going to do it from here on out if I want to.
@davidasinclair@elonmusk Yea, your success is a threat to a lot of people's wallets. ๐ Hospital systems, pharma, assisted living/long term care, social security solvency.......Keep going though. Most people, at least the ones on X, see through the bs of hit pieces.
So @hubermanlab@newstart_2024 what you're basically saying is the eye movement "Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Start" is a biological cheat code.๐ค We might be in a simulation after all.
Andrew Huberman shares a simple, science-backed trick to fall asleep faster when your mind races or you can't stop noticing your body position:
Close your eyes and do slow, deliberate eye movements to shut down proprioception (body awareness) and signal your brain it's time to transition into sleep.
Try this tonight (takes ~1โ2 minutes):
- Slowly move eyes left โ right (a few times)
- Then counterclockwise circle โ clockwise circle
Look up โ down
- Gently attempt to look toward the bridge of your nose (faux cross-eyed)
- Finish with a long exhale to slow heart rate
Why it works: Eye movements coordinate with your vestibular system & cerebellum to mimic the natural forgetting of body position that happens at sleep onset (similar to slow rocking or boat motion calming the brain). It gives your racing mind something active to focus on instead of "just relax."
Huberman: "Many people find it helps them fall asleep quicklyโit's not kooky; it's physiology."
No apps, no gadgetsโjust your eyes. Game-changer for insomniacs or restless nights. Try it & report back.
The inherent issue with this is that with every dollar not taxed, politicians lose power up until the point in which it decreases economic activity so much that fewer tax dollars are actually received. The politicians hidden primary agenda is to maximize their own power, and having more money to spend is one way of doing that. So as long as people will still vote for them, they will try to enact as many taxes as possible to meet their own goals.
My wife's friend built a house 10 years ago. Now they have to get MRI every year to make sure they don't have lung cancer. Why? Radon. BUY/BORROW A CHEAP RADON DETECTOR AND TEST YOUR HOUSE! They built in a state that doesn't normally have high levels, but theirs were 80 pCi/L - the EPA abatement level is 4. Their chances of dying from lung cancer are now 1 in 50 if they never smoked and 1 in 10 if they ever smoked. If your house is foam sealed or airtight, it can be worse. I added a slab depressurization system to my house even though the level was pretty low, because it was only about $2500. Here is a link to the air quality monitor I got on amazon. Works great. https://t.co/CkB57D0AtW
Instead of โIโm bad at thisโ.
Say โI'm new to thisโ.
This gives your brain the space to learn instead of shut down.
This is neuroplasticity in real time.
@grok which scenario would end up better for borrowers (say someone with a car payment or a house payment) in the case of extreme GDP growth due to massive productivity: scenario one the government prints money to keep inflation at zero. Scenario to the government allows massive deflation. Detail the effects on borrowers, let's say $100,000 and the rate is fixed for 30 years in this case to keep it easy.
Grok designed these rain covers for my Hisense portable AC. I couldn't find them anywhere and Grok designed them in a matter of seconds. https://t.co/reymLaBY87
@theobjectivist Serious question - if you found out you had a great aunt that left you 100 million dollars as inheritance, would you say "no thanks" and keep your life the same? Same job, same hours, 2 weeks vacation? Or would you take the opportunity to see if there is more to life than a job?
