For all the talks about how AI began being used by consumers instead of governments & enterprises, it is becoming increasingly clear where the profit really rests. Most people are not going to use reasoning models for their shopping or dating. Plus many of them are hating AI (with its data centers). So again giant enterprises, governments & the wealthiest 1% are the best customers.
AI is also showing who is actually capable of focusing on & doing real work, and who isn’t both at lower & leadership levels.

Think of yourself as an LLM.
Every social interaction, every meeting, burns your tokens.
Unless someone is a paid subscriber to your attention, you are under no obligation to answer low-quality prompts.
Lot of people talking about how AI is costing more than employees. Here’s the thing - AI can be modified & updated fast to reduce costs or make them more capable (and this is the expectation). Try doing something like that with people and watch the headache with self respect & virtue signaling…
Finished this book about #GraphRAG. It focuses on the essentials with examples and high level explanations. With less than 200 pages it certainly does not dig into details of stuff like community formation, advanced retrieval routers, embedding math, deep learning, evaluation methods, etc. Most of the writing is code for following along with examples. But a good start certainly. Depending on our particular needs we have to move ahead with digging into specific topics, methods & optimizations as well as construct the graphs. I wanna build something to help with tribal knowledge in tech orgs so this is useful.
We have overestimated the value of goodness of heart, and underestimated the Practical Value of Technical Competence, Intelligence. It is not an either-or condition as both can be found in people together which is best.
Got the populated data for building the final clue in Jane Street’s June challenge, but not able to put my finger on the final clue itself. Could it have something to do with the title itself? I don’t know… will have to figure out slowly
It is becoming obvious to the Smartest & Wealthiest People that governments & enterprises make the best customers - they pay well, keep long relations spanning decades, their employees HAVE to use the tools they are told to use, etc. unlike average consumers who pay little, have too much useless randomness, fickle relationships, etc.
For the past 8 decad-ish, the focus was on consumers hoping to get eventually converted to customers but that did not happen. If anything they just turn up with bullshit lawsuits & stupid complaints which increases headache while reducing profits.
Literally the only type of company that can happily deal with consumers is infinite video scroll apps… why? Because that is where consumers *consume* stuff while tolerating ads because they are addicted to the platform. And also use it for complaining about bullshit stuff, so they don’t want to let the social infinite video scroll platform go away.
Had solved half the May 2026 puzzle of Jane Street. If I had put some more courage then I would have solved the double 63 region as well like an elongated neck…
Gosh I should be located in Silicon Valley. The amount of real work being done in a few hotspots across the world is mind boggling & important for the future.
News at #NVIDIAGTC Taipei:
NVIDIA introduces Alpamayo 2 Super, its most powerful open driving foundation model to date.
The open 32-billion-parameter reasoning VLA model is designed to help developers build safe, scalable level 4 robotaxis that reason, plan and act across the full driving stack, alongside AlpaGym, OmniDreams and physical AI agent skills for AV development.
Cold take on what comes next:
