@FromLe2 I suspect part of the problem is that most of the players arrived in camp with injuries following on from the European matches and then a tough Premiership game. In comparison, Ireland (aka Leinster) used the European matches as a warm up before the 6 Nations!
@MartGillingham What Farrell wants he gets. Gets angry with the ‘posh boy’ in training and he’s banished for good as Wigglesworth has Farrell’s back it seems.
And what has happened to Ben Youngs? Has he broken both legs or have I missed something? Youngs/Care way better than 4th choice Mitchell
@red_as_fcuk@AndyGoode10 You need to remember Borthwick had to pick all but 5 players from the existing Elite Player squad that Eddie Jones had selected. So he couldn’t tap in to a wider pool
@wdavis0721 @UberChance@AndyGoode10 I suspect Mercer wasn’t hitting the necessary fitness thresholds set by Aled Walters and got found out, so they binned him from the squad.
@EgertonSport Dan Biggar upright tackle on Earls was another crime that’s gone unpunished. On a wider point, I wonder if the practice of using tackle bags in training is a contributing factor to all these stand up head shots as it becomes ‘normal’ to stand and absorb a player running at you
@apmparker Hi Angus! Great list! Whilst it’s often helpful to read a book before getting stuck into the real world issues, it’s also the case that experiencing situations first then reading around a management topic is beneficial as you can have more context in which to apply the learning.
@andymcgeady One of the incidents was because Ritchie was remonstrating to the ref and was right in the ref’s face, raised voice and rather aggressive in his demeanour. So Pearce rightly told him not to do it again if he wants to talk to him.
@CardiffRugbyWeb But that is what cheats and bullies do. He has zero respect for rugby and it’s traditions. World Rugby needs to grasp the nettle and make an example of his boorish behaviour and ban him outright.
@Richie_Allen@CharlieFelix@SBarnesRugby Arguably DC is the best TH in England - ahead of Sinckler. KS isn’t that great at scrum time and regularly got taken to the cleaners by Gengy, so much so he had to be subbed off early as he couldn’t handle it. Cole’s work rate is phenomenal.
@TFinnKelcey@EgertonSport Farrell stays in for his ‘leadership’ in the group as EJ hasn’t got any other options. Maybe he will be better for having time out since relegation, but he is the complete opposite of Smith from an attacking point of view.
@andNickMullins Jones needs to prove he can find a style of play that works without Manu and Billy V. If there are no other options to mirror those two then he needs to adapt things accordingly. Baxter playing Simmonds at 8 for Exeter requires the player is used differently. Jones must rethink.
@FreddieBurns This is the best signing over the last 9 months. Brilliant to have you back at Welford Road. Every rugby club needs a Freddie Burns and the Tigers have got the real deal 😁👏👌
@realDanHarrison@Tigersultras Yes that pretty much sums it up. I suspect there was a fall out when Borthwick took him off at half time in what proved to be his final game. Borthwick is into the detail and TH wasn’t anywhere close to delivering to the standard required. Errors aplenty. Questionable attitude.
