@fesshole My first small movie role, I’m Scottish, and I went to London, and trying to be friendly, was saying “hi how are you?” to everyone on set. when I sat down with the stylist I said it to her and she said “oh I’m the hair stylist”. I realized everyone thought i said “who are you” 😆
@sianasmith_ I’ve been working full time through a temp agency. Contracts can last 3 months and so you can line it up with acting/performance work. I do Executive Assistant work. Hybrid working, very well paid and flexible for auditions and jobs. Obviously you’re jumping a lot tho.☺️
@VixAndersonX@SpotlightUK When I’ve been approached by agents, I know I get a little bit overwhelmed and take time to do my due diligence before replying. They could also be meeting other agencies/working and want to reply when they’ve made a decision or think about their reply/questions they might have?
@EquityUK rocks. Radio silence from production after the shoot, production wrapped weeks ago and I hadn’t heard anything re payment. Wrote a short email to Equity literally days ago and production have finally asked me for bank details. Thank you!
@CDAssoc Self tapes changed casting for good. So many opportunities for people far from London that can’t afford to go down all the time for a first round. I’ve had CDs requesting a second tape with direction, but agree that you put a lot of work in without really hearing anything!
@WrittenByHanna And when that job ends she isn’t guaranteed a new role anywhere. She could be out of work living in an expensive city auditioning until the next job comes so will need to survive until then.
