This is going down like a sack of spuds on every social media platform.
Many teachers sharing their experiences from the frontline right now. This is a particularly poignant one…
Hey @educationgovuk maybe you need to channel some of the money you seem to be wasting on your PR department into schools instead because you seem to forget that it's them doing most of the hard work with not enough funding...

Class size does matter. Behavior matters even more.
It’s not just that it’s impossible to meet the needs of 30 engaged students in one room.
The real issue is that almost every class has one or two students who don’t want to be there and can derail learning for everyone else.
Teachers can manage big classes.
What they can’t do is teach, redirect, protect, and de-escalate all at once when one or two students are constantly disrupting… or worse.
We’ve reached a point where a teacher was shot by a 6-year-old, and she had to sue her district just to get paid for the trauma she endured. If that doesn’t show how far this has gone, nothing will.
Most students want to learn.
Most teachers want to teach.
But it only takes one or two to shut a class down or put a teacher in danger.
If we want better learning, we can’t ignore this reality.
Class size matters and so do the supports, boundaries, and alternatives for students who cannot function safely in a traditional classroom.

Dear Parents—your child doesn’t need to be the smartest in the class, the best on the field, or the most talented in the room.
But they do need to be teachable.
We’ve raised a generation that can Google every answer, but too many are forgetting how to listen, respect, and learn.
Being teachable isn’t about grades or intelligence—it’s about humility. It’s about realizing you don’t know everything and being willing to grow when someone tries to help you.
As parents, we don’t need to raise perfect kids.
We need to raise kids who can take feedback without falling apart.
Who can apologize.
Who can show respect even when they disagree.
Who can be corrected without becoming combative.
Because teachability will take them further than talent ever will.
I believe that @waitrose need to offer this young man a paid job.
This experience shows how in some circumstances "volunteering" and work placement schemes can exploit chronically ill, disabled and neurodivergent people.
This needs to stop.
Was chatting to a colleague at work yesterday about how everyone's mood feels slightly on edge. This is surely contributing at the moment #inneedofsunshine
Hi @Keir_Starmer whilst I welcome this I think you need to recognise why there is just such a problem with recruitment & retention in schools at the moment. As a teacher with over 20 years experience it's a real struggle at the moment and I question how I will survive the year!
Teachers change children’s lives every single day.
Today, we're announcing new bursaries and scholarships to support talented people to become brilliant teachers.
Inspiring the next generation and boosting opportunity across the country.
