Been a crazy few months—non-stop testing and deploying a mix of mid-frequency algos on Hyperliquid.

Results have been very promising so far, with live PnL closely tracking shadow PnL.

More ideas to test and hopefully deploy

I'm not telling anyone not to use Variational.

I'm saying: understand what you're trusting.

Understand the market structure.
Understand where discretion exists.
Understand what you can verify — and what you simply have to trust.

Then decide whether you want to give them your flow.

This isn’t a thread accusing Variational of any wrongdoing

I have no evidence that they’re doing anything nefarious

But after reading the docs, I noticed that almost nobody is talking about the structural risks associated with the platform

Maybe that's the correct trade-off.

Maybe the execution quality justifies it.

Maybe it doesn't.

I don't know.

Neither do you.
