I while ago I set up a private @MastodonProject instance and got into the Fediverse. It has this cool feeling of a thing that is not discovered by the masses. Sometimes I even post something, here is a thread on social media https://t.co/u6JUWhCEKc
@CarlosMonjeJr@yoyoel Thank you. Now it's clear. I would be nice if the dataset was hosted on a platform like https://t.co/99CljJrKN1 so that versions are easily tracked. I might have to redownaload 300 zip archives...
.@CarlosMonjeJr Hi! The 2018 US Midterm Elections Review mentions that Twitter was contacted by an external researcher about 228 misidentified accounts. Do you know whether the details on how these accounts were identified are publicly available? Who contacted you?
Are these accounts present in the October 2018 IRA dataset? Is it still correct to say that the accounts in the IRA dataset are likely to be associated with the IRA?
@ian_soboroff@richardm_ I've suspected this, that's why I decided to base collection first on location, then on media accounts and then on preselected individual accounts.

@ian_soboroff I remember how sure you were that Caps would get eliminated pretty soon. I had a feeling that it was a kind of a ritual to make Caps win!
Putting aside what Zuckerberg says at the grilling sessions, why is he agrees to them? He doesn't provide real answers, the concerned user's are not going to change their mind, maybe even get more sceptical. Who does he target at with the appearance and vague idealised answers?

#Pandas tip: Pass functions to .loc[] for flexible indexing: df.loc[lambda x: x.col != 0]. You save an assignment and can keep on chaining.
#Jupyter NB tip: Instead of switching on and off %pdb, just run %debug to get magically dropped into the last exception. HT @aseyboldt
