🏫The University College of London (UCL) is arguably one of the most advanced with blockchain adoption

As one of the oldest DLT research academias dating back to 2016

Its since seem countless big name players from the industry such as $QNT $HBAR $XRP $XLM & many more

Today we'll look into what exactly the UCL Centre for Blockchain Technology (CBT) is & its significance to the future adoption of blockchain

Originating back in 2016, the UCL CBT was founded by none other than Paolo Tasca

@noBScrypto had recently wrote a nice breakdown on Paolo's background showing his years of work in economic research both before & since the DLT space

Paolo Breakdown👇
https://t.co/XF9cbKlij1

Heres the key takeaways from Paolo's background

-Cofounder & Chair of DLT Science Foundation
-Co-chair treasury & tokenomics for $HBAR
-Research Associate & Officer of LSE
-Cofounder & Advisor for $QNT (18-20)
-Committee member for ISO TC 307

Needless to say, Paolo is not only well versed in the industry, but seen as one of the leaders driving real adoption

From being an executive for consortiums & organizations such as ISO & INATBA

To holding some essential roles at industry players like Quant & Hedera

But let's look at Paolo's reason for creating UCL CBT

UCL has since become the largest DLT academic centre in the world with participation from both the public and private sector

Paolo had created the CBT for 3 main pillars around research of blockchain

👨‍🔬Science + Technology
🧑‍💼Economics + Finance
👩‍⚖️Regulations + Law

As we know, these are all critical pieces in enabling full use of blockchain technology

Since then they've had over 80 research papers with some of the smartest minds that are looking into DLT

We now see UCL CBT continue to intertwine more with each of Paolo's positions

As UCL has been a long time member of $HBAR governance council, much like the other academia's that Paolo has been working with

Additionally they are working to further assist in standardization of SATP & TC307 the standards founded by $QNT through Paolo's position in the TC307 committee & the IETF in joining the CBT

There are also ties into the deep financial sector through various central banks & $XRP, along with developing the undeveloped parts of the financial world through the UN & $XLM

Perhaps the most important part of UCL's CBT is how well connected they are to the rest of the regulated DLT landscape

Having Paolo at the forefront of UCL CBT enables a massive network of industry players

Whether thats other organizations like INATBA & Hyperledger, or DLT projects like $QNT $HBAR or even central banks & academias!

The specialty in UCL isn't exactly how they've positioned themselves

But rather it is moreso in Paolo's work & UCL's advancements in blockchain that make it such a recognized and respected DLT academic consortium

🎯Welcome to the NoBSCrypto-Breakdown EP2

In this segment we'll be looking into $CSPR

Topics included will be the 3 T's

-Tech
-Team
-Tokenomics

What's $CSPR?

Casper Network is a Layer 1 DAG based DLT built to fit the enterprise standard

Let me show you the details ➞

The tech behind Casper's just one of the many aspects that make them a unique L1 platform

The consensus and tech behind $CSPR was actually inspired by research from the Ethereum Foundation

CBC-Casper was 1 of 2 proposals by the Ethereum Foundation at the time to further improve $ETH

Casper took the research a step further & optimized it to what they call "Highway Protocol"🛣️

Initially this stirred some problems & even sprung up a lawsuit,

Don't worry though!

Its since been resolved & now $CSPR owns the full rights to CBC-Casper family protocols

But what does CBC-Casper even mean...?

Simply put CBC stands for Correct By Construction

Now I'm not going to bore you with all the technical jargon, but there are some key points

CBC-Casper ensures SAFETY & LIVENESS

Safety- Won't make inconsistent decisions
Liveness- Guaranteed to eventually finalize

That's all you really need to remember about CBC-Casper

In short it makes sure that the network consensus will be consistent & that it will eventually come to finality of transactions (can't be reversed)

🏎️Now comes Highway Consensus

Fundamentally its a Proof of Stake architecture paired with the aspects of CBC-Casper

Much like many other protocols, the Highway Protocol is Byzantine Fault Tolerant (BFT)

Meaning that as long as 66.6% of the network is working honestly, it will eventually come to consensus regardless of the other 33.3% of nodes are dishonest

But this is where $CSPR seperates themselves

Highway allows for higher thresholds & flexible designs of finality in an unprecedented manner

🏁FINALITY
Most blockchain consensus for finality is binary, meaning its either reached finality or it hasn't

Highway brings more life & variability to finality through variating the finality times depending on the total number of honest acting nodes in the network

This provides much more flexibility to how they can safely achieve finality without sacrificing for security when there are dishonest nodes

And if the network sees significant increase in honest acting nodes, the finality speed would increase

💪FLEXIBILITY
The Highway Consensus also allows for flexibility in how consensus is reached

Simply put nodes don't all have to agree on the same finality periods, as nodes have different roles within the ecosystem

Nodes responsible for smaller transactions can decrease finality thresholds

Whereas nodes responsible for large transactions may want longer periods before finality, for security reasons

All in all, it brings a lot more life and variability compared to most blockchain networks

Because as we know, life isn't always black & white

Their technology is Web Assembly (WASM) rather than the conventional Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) that we see a majority of L1's run upon

While running on EVM allows you to deploy the same platform on multiple systems,

The scalability of the machine often comes to question

WASM is not only faster & more scalable, something that would be a priority to high functioning enterprises

But WASM also allows for many more developer friendly languages such as Rust, C & C++

Enough tech jargon for now, let's look at the brains behind $CSPR

The team behind $CSPR is built from a long list of experience in the world of Web2 enterprises

Let's look into 4 of their core members

1⃣Mrinal Manohar, Cofounder & CEO
2⃣Medha Parlikar, Cofounder & CTO
3⃣Ross MacKay, COO

Let's start with the CEO spearheading the vision

Mrinal Manohar is a seasoned veteran in the world of private equity & investments

Right after he finished his education he landed internships at some notable names

-FBI
-Microsoft
-Google

So right off the bat Mrinal brought some heavy hitters into his network

2 of the largest Big Tech giants & well... I don't think I have to explain too much about the FBI

Afterwards he served a combined 9 years in the professional services world in some large names such a Bain & Co/Capital along with Sagard Holdings

Today, Mrinal brings his long line of experience in the world of professionals to the enterprise grade standard of $CSPR

Medha Parlikar is the tech behind the $CSPR vision and she's had quite an interesting history

She actually started off in corporate management prior to going all into the world of tech

Some of her most notable positions include some large household companies such as Adobe, Temboo & Avalara

These are all essential services to any business as it relates to media, code & taxes

I don't care what business you are, those 3 are all essential for any successful modern business today

Ross MacKay also brings a similar background in experience from the world of professional services, but also a bit of cloud technology!

He had spent 7 years at Accenture as a Strategy Consultant, where he was a part of building what is now the world's largest digital experience agency

Accenture's the largest consultancy firm by employees with over 730 MILLION employees worldwide🤯

Additionally Ross had spent 3 years at DropBox as the VP & Head of Sales Strategies in the EMEA regions

☁️I'm sure you've at least heard of DropBox in your life, but if not they're one of the largest cloud storage providers worldwide

As we can see the $CSPR vision isn't just fit for enterprises, but their team 100% reflects that

Let's quickly take a look into the developments within the Casper Network

As you may have guessed, the $CSPR ecosystem is much less DeFi & NFTs for retail fun

Their focus is enterprise utility after all

Here are some of their most exciting developments from Casper internally & externally

IPwe
This is an on-chain intellectual property (IP) tokenization platform

Simply put their bringing IP's & patents onto the blockchain to allow for things like provenance and increased access & fungibility of each patent

In case you're not convinced on the size of the patent market, its stated that IPs make up ~90% of the SP500's value

This solution is brought forth by $CSPR alongside @Hyperledger Fabric & @IBM Weaver

They utilize a novel concept with swapping assets across public and permissioned networks

We'll save the tech jargon for a future thread, but the purpose of this system enables 2 main features

1. Enterprises access to liquidity of public markets

2. Keep the permissioned corporate security

Which is something that the IP markets will benefit heavily from due to the security of these patents, yet the power of an open access market

🪐It's the best of both worlds!🌍

BSN (Red Date)
While China hasn't been too fond of crypto,

They've actually been one of the most forward thinking countries in blockchain developments

@BSNbase is the equivalent to North America's Hyperledger or Quorum

They offer a variety of blockchain based tools for corporations & their parent company is Red Date Technology

The DeFacto business blockchain that enterprises are flocking towards

But BSN operates quite strangely, there are 2 versions of their network

BSN Spartan- For clients outside of China

BSN DDC- For clients within China & other regions that are approved

You would think $CSPR was chosen for Spartan given they're based in Switzerland

THINK AGAIN!

$CSPR has actually been integrated into BSN DDC through an Open Permissioned Blockchain (OPB) adapter

Simply put this enables a permissioned version of $CSPR into the BSN ecosystem

BSN has been working on digitalizing various provinces and cities in China such as Wuhan & Fuzhou

The goal of the Casper & BSN partnership is to turn ChengDu into a smart city

This operation titled, ChengDu Chain is already live & gradually growing on the Casper Network

ChengDu has a recorded population of over 10 million citizens & a GDP of nearly $290 USD!

One can only imagine how big this collaboration will scale to be in due time🧨

Nucleus Finance
The last collaboration we'll touch up on $CSPR involves multiple parties and is personally my favorite!

The purpose of @Nucleus_Fin is to bring legal financial contracts onto the blockchain

The platforms built by CasperLabs & Ariadne

Ariadne is also another finance focused application on Casper, to bring corporate financial services on-chain

All of these parties tie directly into the ACTUS financial standards for financial contract standards

So now we have...

Nucleus- Financial contract dApp
Ariadne- On-chain financial services
ACTUS- Financial contract standard

As these all directly connect to $CSPR

It seems like they're building out QUITE the ecosystem for enterprise financial services in silence🤫

ACTUS is also a Registration Management Group (RMG) member of ISO20022

The ISO standard created by ISO TC68 for legacy technologies to greatly enhance our financial systems!

Which likely in return means financial services hosted on $CSPR will more than likely follow ISO20022

Finally we'll finish it off with some tokenomics

The $CSPR token serves utilities similar to many other L1 tokens

-Gas for network fees
-Stake to secure network

Though they've done so in an interesting method relative to traditional L1 tokenomics

There is not a supply cap on $CSPR tokens with 8% coming into circulation every year

This is strictly to incentivize actual utility of CSPR tokens and disincentivize hoarding HODLers

Personally I think this is GENIUS for an enterprise focused chain

If you're hodling CSPR and wish to not be affected by the token inflation theres 1 SUPER simple solution

Stake your CSPR & the rewards fully offset the inflation rate and more

Gas fees on $CSPR remain predictable at 2.5 CSPR per transaction executed

They can also be paid in fiat on the end user side with automatic seamless conversion to CSPR tokens

Both keys that enterprises will value greatly to ensure consistency in fees but also simplicity in payments

As we mentioned the 8% annual inflation of $CSPR

Staking CSPR currently gives 10.73% APY, offsetting the 8% inflation rate with some extra $CSPR to spare

Circulating: 11.3 Bil $CSPR
Staked: 8.94 Bil $CSPR (74.5%)

To conclude tokenomics, $CSPR really takes the term "utility token" to the next level

By disincentivizing investors from simply HODLing their tokens & incentivizing real usage

Whether thats thru staking to secure the ecosystem or accessing general utilities

They're practically saying

"Stake your tokens to secure the network and earn real yield, or don't and get eaten away by inflation"

Now you may be thinking that inflation in any token is bad

But given the enterprise adoption, tokens locked into staking and controlled consistent 8% rate

I'd personally take the inflation of Casper over large token unlock cliffs any day of the week
----------------------------------------------------
To conclude our $CSPR analysis,

Its quite clear that they have shown signs of real business adoption, something the majority of L1s continue to dream of

Beyond this there are supposedly 3 NDA collaborations with Fortune500 companies building on Casper to be revealed in Q4!

Their technology fits exactly what a business would want in its ability to adapt to specific needs

Whether those needs are higher finality thresholds for large B2B payments OR a hybrid permissioned blockchain

the friendly ghost has got your back👻

[Kyren @noBScrypto]

🍨Happy Small Cap Sunday!

Every Sunday we'll be showcasing a different small-capped gem

For our first week we've got $NXRA

One of the few projects setting up institutional DeFi infrastructure the right way

Let's look further into their ecosystem→

The first thing we have to do is understand the AllianceBlock ecosystem

As it’s not really a DeFi product

Rather it’s a conglomerate of different tools & infrastructures that make up the decentralized finance space

@Tokenicer often relates AllianceBlock similar to a playground & I think it’s quite fitting!

If we take every part of DeFi & compare them to playground equipments

Swaps- Swings
Lend/Borrow- Slides
Yield Farm- Monkey Bars
Launchpads- Sandbox

Now ask yourself this, Would 7 year old you want to go to the park with just 1 piece of equipment

Or you would rather go to the playground with everything in 1 spot?

Hopefully we all have a fundamental understanding of $NXRA now

But they didn’t stop there!

As they want to cater their solutions to individuals and institutions alike, they’ve ensured compliance in every step of the way

They’re based in Switzerland thus follow EU MiCA regulations especially with KYC/AML through their trustless ID verification through their @NexeraID

This is their flagship trustless ID solution

In fact even @w3c had recognized their solution enough to bring them into their standards organization for setting up decentralized identity solutions!

Through solutions like zero knowledge proofs, NexeraID provides a seamless and trusted new way to verify your identity without exposing your sensitive data

Think of it like this,

When you go to a bar you'll likely get ID'd

You hand over your ID

But they don't need 90% of the information on there

They don't care about your name, address, gender, height, etc

All they care about is making sure you're of legal age

KYC in crypto is usually a similar case with 1 or 2 extra steps involved

The purpose of it is to make sure you reside in a legal jurisdiction & are of age to use a companies services

This is the vision that NexeraID brings🔥

Trusted KYC solutions are 1 of the core pillars to enable mass utilization of blockchain based finances

But this is just 1 utility from $NXRA

While it is their flagship product that unlocks everything else in their ecosystem, theres much more to uncover

The AllianceBlock ecosystem also includes their Data Tunnel, Fundrs, DeFi Terminal, AllianceDEX, AllianceBridge

I'll give you the quick run-down on each of these

DATA TUNNEL
Serves as a marketplace for data. Notable clients include @crunchbase & SSA Group

FUNDRS
Platform for Web3 startups to gain funding globally in a compliant manner. Projects include $LEOX $PEAQ $DUA

DEFI TERMINAL
No code liquidity liquidity/staking solution for projects seeking further liquidtiy

ALLIANCEDEX
Decentralized exchange with enhanced solutions for slippage & liquidity

ALLIANCEBRDIGE
Chain agnostic bridge to swap across ecosystems

The most exciting part of all these different counterparts in the AllianceBlock ecosystem is that....

They're ALL powered by the $NXRA token to enable the utilities of these products to take place!

If you'd like to take a further read into $NXRA token utility: https://t.co/iQt26yeCBh

The @AllianceBlock team is rightfully also built from years of experience in the top levels of finance and technology

But not only is the team great at staying consistent, they've shown to be great people too!

During their unfortunate exploit earlier this year from their partnership with BONQ DAO

The AllianceBlock team had taken responsibility fully upon themselves, even though this was a mistake from BONQ entirely

They had reimbursed users with $NXRA tokens directly from the teams allocation to compensate for damages done to the community members

Its been onwards & upwards since that misstep

Looking into the external ecosystem of $NXRA they're connected to some of the biggest names in the Web2 & Web3 space!

Here are 3 of my favorites from the crypto space:
$QNT- Solution to connect LSEG clients
$CSPR- AllianceBlock validator node
$HBAR- Consensus Service for AllianceBridge

They're also a contributor to multiple crypto/blockchain consortiums & organizations such as INATBA, W3C, PlugNPlay & OpenWealth Foundation
_____________________________________________________
𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐃𝐈𝐂𝐓

The $NXRA ecosystem really seems to be one of the most complete in DeFi

Whether you're looking to

Get into early small capped projects vetted by the team on Fundrs

Bridge your tokens to other ecosystems through the AllianceBridge

Monetize and make your data work for you in the Data Tunnel

Find a viable & non-expensive liquidity solution through the DeFi Terminal

Looking to make swaps without getting slaughtered by price slippage on AllianceDEX

Wanting a seamless KYC solution without exposing your data every time with NexeraID

The @AllianceBlock ecosystems got you covered🤝

Currently sitting at roughly $38.5 million MC with & 83.5% of total supply in circulation,

I think $NXRA makes a GREAT case for not just strong price action but strong adoption of their use cases in the upcoming bullrun

As we know compliance and regulations are inching closer by the day & DeFi is one of the main parts of crypto they're pointing to

99% of DeFi products you see in crypto today aren't fit for proper institutional utility

No KYC/AML solutions to ensure users are legally able to operate on the platform

Institutions aren't going to want to touch anything where funds are essentially untraced and unregulated where they could potentially be funding illegal activities

As regulations cross into the crypto ecosystem more, I believe we'll see $NXRA begin showing its true colours

It's the long term game for me #NoMercy🔥

[Kyren @noBScrypto]

⚡️Welcome to the NoBSCrypto Analysis EP1

In this segment we'll be looking into $AZERO

Topics included will be the 3 T's

-Tech
-Team
-Tokenomics

What's $AZERO?

Aleph Zero's a Layer 1 platform DAG with some unique features

Let's look further into these features→

Their main unique selling points can be broken down into3⃣parts

1. Liminal Layer 2 pre-built overtop
2. Use sMPC & zK Proofs for privacy/security
3. AlephBFT Proof of Stake consensus

Don't understand what any of this is? No problem let's explain it in plain simple English

Liminal Layer 2
By now we've all seen Layer 2 scaling solutions like $MATIC or $OP be built to help $ETH scale

This provides cheaper fees and many other features which allows Ethereum to overall scale and extend to other ecosystems, but at the end of the day its not done natively

It requires an additional third party thats built just for the purpose of intending the platform can function at scale

But what if there was a solution to do so NATIVELY?

Well that's exactly what Liminal is!

The solutions behind Liminal are much less scaling solutions but moreso extending $AZERO operations further

Liminal serves moreso as a privacy layer that utilizes both sMPC & zK proofs to enhance the privacy and security of the underlying contract and end user

Smart Multi-Party Computation
sMPC is simply the ability for multiple computers to compute and share data with each other without having to share confidential information

Zero Knowledge Proofs
zK proofs are a very similar procedure but its more focused in a 1on1 sense

The issue with sMPC is that it is VERY slow but open to multiple parties

Whereas zK proofs are quick, but only doable in a 1on1 environment

So Liminal decided to combine the two together

Simply put, Liminal now brings the best of both worlds to enhance privacy and security

By building on $AZERO you natively get enhanced smart contract features

But if you want to keep building on $ETH, $NEAR or any other Layer 1 you can still use Liminal to keep the private state of the contract on Aleph Zero!

Liminal can also serve as an interoperability solution, as it works as a bridge toward other ecosystems that it has been integrated with

The consensus they use within their ecosystem is a novel mechanism they've titled AlephBFT

The consensus brings together Proof of Stake & Byzantine Fault Tolerant functions

It uses a Proof of Stake system alongside a rotating committee of validators

Quite similar to $ALGO

BFT consensus models suppose that less than ⅓ of the nodes within a network are acting in bad faith

If we assume ⅔ of the users are honest, a BFT consensus can work securely & ensure an immutable and proven history of transactions

One of the criticisms directed towards BFT solutions is their perceived ineffectiveness beyond permissioned settings

Which is where the rotating validator mechanism comes into play to ensure optimal decentralization and no full central entity with full power

The Aleph Zero team might be one of the biggest brains in all of crypto

Their founding team is pretty much all PhD's

We'll highlight 3 specific members in this analysis

1⃣Matthew Niemerg, Cofounder/President
2⃣Michael Guzik, Advisor/Investor
3⃣Joeri van Geelen, Advisor

Beyond just a great academic background, these 3 also bring extensive experience in Web2 & Web3 technology

Matthew Niemerg is the brains behind Aleph Zero and one of the cofounders that brought the vision of $AZERO to life

He comes from a strong academic background, having done research previously with management level entities at BlackRock & Vanguard for advanced mathematical theories

Additionally he's also a contributing member to the European Blockchain Strategy Infrastructure

Prior to Aleph Zero, he was the CEO of Cardinal Cryptography

Which is actually the research company that not only founded $AZERO AlephBFT consensus

But they even played a huge role in founding and researching $CSPR Highway consensus🤯

And before all this, he was working within the hardware side of IBM on Summit

Summit's the worlds fastest supercomputer to date🔥

Michael Guzik brings whatever business experience the team lacks due to their academic focus

Don't be decieved by Michael's young looks, his history in professional services is next level!

-Started @Deloitte as advisor to M&A's
-Head of Blockchain & Digital Strategy @PwC
-Senior Advisor to @SDX_global

PwC & Deloitte are common household names as the Big 4 professional service firms

Right up there alongside KPMG & Ernest n Young!

Whereas SDX the Swiss' digital asset exchange created by @sixgroup

SIX oversees & runs the Swiss Stock Exchange, which was also the FIRST stock exchange to go digital in 1995

Funny how history rhymes huh?

Joeri van Geelen is another strategic advisor for Aleph Zero that brings not only extensive business experience, but a whole world of connections from his personal network

Prior to $AZERO he was the Business Advisor of the APAC (Asia Pacific) regions for Prsym Group

Prsym is a research and consultancy firm that looks into emerging technologies & advises on how businesses and institutions can best leverage the innovations

Some of the clients that utilize Prsym's research consist of giants such as DARPA, MIT, A16Z, Panetra, Harvard, IBM, US Federal Reserve, Microsoft & many others

All in all the $AZERO team has a great balance of strong academia to code and develop the ecosystem

The business developments and external growth can be easily accessed through their advisors wide array of industry connections in their network

Finally let's touch up on TOKENOMICS

As you may have already guessed the token is $AZERO

It is its own native token on Aleph Zero's network

The utilities of AZERO are quite general within their ecosystem

From common use cases like paying for fees and securing the network

To being the fuel for enabling Liminal's cross function features

Now unlike most cryptocurrencies, there actually isn't a total cap to $AZERO tokens... in fact its inflationary😱

Before you freak out let me explain a little more

Unlike fiat currencies where the inflation rate could be 0% one year and jump up to even 200% the next year,

$AZERO annual inflation is capped at at 30 million tokens

During the initial launch of $AZERO the total supply was 300 million, meaning the inflation rate for the first year was 10%

Which definitely isn't bad, but also NOT great

But heres the good part... The inflation impacts diminishes heavily over time

Let's look at their 5 year schedule

Y1= 300mil AZERO + 30mil inflation (10%)
Y2= 330mil AZERO + 30mil inflation (9.1%)
Y3= 390mil AZERO + 30mil inflation (8.3%)
Y4= 420mil AZERO + 30mil inflation (7.7%)
Y5= 450mil AZERO + 30mil inflation (7.1%)

While the amount of 30 million AZERO coming to circulation annually stays constant

The effects and impact of 30 million tokens gradually decreases in the relativity to the total supply every year

In fact by year 15 the inflation will only be 3% of the total supply at that point!

Additionally if you choose to stake your $AZERO you earn ~11.2%, which completely sets off inflation regardless of the maturity of the ecosystem

These 30 million tokens are divided in the following manner

27 million AZERO (90%) gets distributed as validator rewards

3 million (10%) goes toward their ecosystem development fund.

These tokenomics create sustainable economics within Aleph Zero that provide inflation in a diminishing manner to enable incentivization but also resources to development and security of the network
____________________________________________________

Overall $AZERO seems to be quite an exciting ecosystem developing

While still quite early on within their network, there are many interesting names from even more interesting backgrounds involved in the project

Which really makes me think... what could possibly be going on behind the scenes that get these guys so involved and interested?

Their technology seems promising given their unique approach to integrating a L2 natively while also enabling the deployment of external smart contracts

Yet optimizing privacy and security through Liminal to ensure private state of contracts remain confidential on AZERO

Given the diminishing inflation on $AZERO and the essential need to use their token for the unique and enterprise grade features on Liminal

As long as the team continues developing & the ecosystem keeps expanding,

I think $AZERO has the potential to take the crown as one of the Top Layer 1 platforms that sees real adoption and heavy investor demand in the coming bull run.
