@DhitiKapadia Goodbye! It was nice learning with you and the rest of our class on Twitter. It really shows how the world revolves around technology. #DCIM353c
As I close out this class, I am reflecting on the ideas we have learned throughout the semester. It is crazy to see what classifies as a disruption because I now see that our world has been VERY disrupted. #DCIM353c
@brenmurph_98 This would be cool, especially since they are very similar already. As soon as Facebook stories came out, Instagram did too. If there was an all-in-one app, that would really disrupt social media. #DCIM353c
I predict that digital technology will continue to negatively affect mental health. When we are too connected online, it can cause psychological issues such as distraction, expectation of instant gratification, and depression/anxiety. #DCIM353c
@VecchiaMegan I agree! Just because Google is Google, it doesn't mean you cannot stand up for yourself and others and make a change. She is a perfect example. #DCIM353c
I like what Ben Tarnoff said about a software engineer at Facebook comparing him/herself to a janitor at Facebook. If you shift your view to see that you are both workers at the same company, it is likely that there will be more harmony between workers of all levels. #DCIM353c
It's very exciting to hear from Stephanie Parker, who led the Google Walkout. We hear a lot from the media, but hearing it firsthand gives much more insight into why she did it. #DCIM353c
@jordannd1212 I wish I had this tip when I started this class. I didn't reply to any of my tweet replies, which I definitely regret. It could have sparked a great, insightful conversation with my peers. I hope I will have another chance to do something like this. #DCIM353c#txc19
@SorinaFernandez I love this tip! I would go to everyone's profiles to see where they go when looking at the cross-course hashtag. Having it in the tweet would definitely be helpful when looking specifically for those from other schools. #DCIM353c#txc19
@emack_30 It has been very cool to connect with others through this cross over activity. Not many students can say that they worked on something in class from a different school. This is all thanks to social media! #DCIM353c#txc19
My advice for students who are looking to have effective communication with their class hashtag is to read all of the replies from all students. It'll help you see everyone's opinions and can help you expand your knowledge with others' thoughts. #DCIM353c#txc19
This Twitter class cross over has shown me how connected we are nowadays to anyone and everyone. It is so cool to have worked with students from other schools and to learn a little about them and their lifestyle. #DCIM353c#txc19
@SarahYagoubi As I scroll through our class hashtag, this seems to be the most popular topic among our classmates. That shows that it is definitely important to study! #DCIM353c
@elaineachen1 Algorithms are a growing topic that more and more people are becoming aware of. This is a good thing because it helps us to realize that nothing we do online is private. Even if we have a private account, they can get info about us. #DCIM353c
@MehranAzam4 This is definitely an important topic to study. We are being watched without even realizing it; many companies have our data and know exactly what we look for online. They know what ads we want to see because they have been following our digital footprints! #DCIM353c
A major topic for Exam 2 is children and digital technology. Kids are receiving smartphones at a much younger age, which integrates technology into their lives a lot earlier than most of us. Technology has become a major part of life. #DCIM353c
This episode of Black Mirror exemplifies how people care so much about what other people think of them and how much they compare themselves to others, even if they don't realize they're doing it #DCIM353c
@lisettev196 This is very interesting to me because I didn't expect the ITI major to involve a lot of writing. I guess I am not as familiar with it as I should be! Congrats on your competition wins, and best of luck in your future career :) #DCIM353c#txc19
