This is outright inhumane. After 4 hours in this record-breaking heat, anyone would need a drink of water. Especially those working outside.
It’s common sense. Give Texas workers their water breaks back. https://t.co/NZ3oVLI0d2
I challenge any TX lawmaker who signed onto the bill that doesn’t allow water breaks for construction workers to come and work in construction for a day.
Those are my uncles & cousins. Y’all are making these laws behind a desk in AC. Go outside (in this heatwave) and touch grass
While overseeing a failing energy grid, MAGA Texas Governor Abbott just signed a law repealing rules requiring water for construction workers—even as they work in triple digit temperatures.😳
People will die. But the GOP just doesn’t care. Smh.

🧵Before we panic about the school takeovers by the TEA. Let’s start breaking this down. If we want to learn why Special Education in Texas is falling apart start here: https://t.co/CaEkFVVIra
It’s happening again: for the second time this year, Governor Abbott’s administration is set to remove 9 more elected school board members from office; this time in a state takeover of Austin ISD.
Call it for what it is, this is a blistering assault on democracy.
In Idaho you can't donate organs from someone who died w/o their prior consent—but Idaho's new abortion bill would force an 11-year-old rape victim to have her rapists child w/o her consent.
In short, even a corpse in Idaho has more rights over its body than do women & girls.😳
Princeton sociologist Matthew Desmond says if the top 1% of Americans paid the taxes they owed, it would raise $175 billion each year.
"That is just about enough to pull everyone out of poverty," the author says. https://t.co/6gG3gA113F
As We celebrate St. Patrick's Day, here is something to think about:
St. Patty's Day celebrates being Irish, but Americans used to be prejudice and racist against Irish Americans. They called them "violent and subhuman".
My point of all of this is that 52 Million Americans have Irish blood. The ancestors of the very people who don't want to talk about racism and are making laws to prevent discussing and teaching about it, were stereotyped and the target of prejudice just 120 years ago.
- In the 1880's native-born Americans censured Irish immigrants for their impoverished state and demeanor, alleged slothfulness and lack of restraint, their penchant for over-drinking, their adherence to the Catholic faith, and their potential for engaging in criminal activity and group violence.
- The critics of the Irish evaluated their character by observing their physical appearance, utilizing both linguistic and visual methods.
Let's eradicate Racism in the future of America by educating our kids about our past.
Well, here it is, the literary equivalent of setting myself on fire for a cause. 🔥🔥🔥 I wish I had everything figured out. I don't. But I do know who I am, and I'm proud of it. 🏳️⚧️ 1/ https://t.co/Ef5QJqp18m
The meds that Americans are buying in Mexico (and bringing into the US) have been laced with fentanyl for a while. The DEA knew. It would have been great for US security agencies to let folks know this instead of associating it (falsely) with migrants.
Five women who say they were denied abortions even when pregnancy endangered their lives are suing Texas over its abortion ban saying the law is creating confusion among doctors. https://t.co/bbRczkY4BF
Seriously what is wrong with these people.😑
Alaska GOP State Rep David Eastman says, and doubles down, that it is a “benefit to society” if an abused child is killed because “it saves the government money.”
GOP isn’t pro life—they’re pro money by any means necessary. Reckless.
Greg Abbott isn’t a Governor for the people of Texas. He is breaking precedent by not holding his State of the State in legislative chambers and not even disclosing the location of his speech-except that it will happen in a San Marcos business. https://t.co/GugqF1AndM
Nearly 1 million pounds of vinyl chloride were on this train. Now, the EPA has confirmed it's entered the Ohio River basin which is home to 25 million people.
This is one of the deadliest environmental emergencies in decades and no one is talking about it.
Firstly- this is a photo from my cover shoot for InStyle magazine, not a still from HBO’s The Last Of Us. And I’m playing a person who meticulously planned & executed an overthrow of FEDRA. I am supposed to be SMART, ma’am. I don’t need to be muscly. That’s what henchmen are for
