There was a time I felt Dean could have become a starter for Manchester United. With youth development, it's all about timing. Personally I don't get the logic of going for wantaway or declining players for backup slots. I don't see many top clubs making such window-end loan/free scrambles as regularly as Manchester United do. These are the slots you trust academy prospects for. And while our youth academy hasn't been top end for a while, this time we actually have a good option in Alvaro Fernandez.
