Bal Thackeray founded Shiv Sena on 19 June 1966. But question is how did he manage to build a political party on his own? Where did he get funds from? No doubt that he was excellent orator. But one can't build a regional party only on oratory skills. So how did he manage?

He targeted Hotels & Canteens run by Shetty Community who hails from #Karnataka. Their businesses were stone pelted, burnt & attacked. But CONgress State Govt DELIBERATELY turned a blind eye because CONgress was seeing a great POTENTIAL in Bal Thackeray to hit communists.

Police was told to turn blind eye to Vi0£ence by Shivsena. Cases, if at all filed, were diluted to get bail immediately & later to get acquittal. Bal Thackeray's name was never included in any FIR or Charge-sheet.

It was win-win for both Thackeray & CONgress.

वैसे, FYI, Bal Thackeray didn't register his organization as Political Party for 10 yrs since founding it. Such FEARLESS he was that during Emergency imposed by Indira Khan-Gandhi, he declared party hierarchy where his name didn't even figure as functionary.That's not all.

2. Where were Thackerays when Great Mill Strike by Communist Dutta Samant forced all mills in Mumbai to close down in 1982? Lakhs of Marathi Mill Workers got unemployed. Wives started working as house maids. Sons joined Underworld Don Arun Gawali & daughters in dance bars.
