Thank you to all those who helped make the British Championships such a success! including Liverpool City Council, Liverpool Bid Company, St George’s Hall, Visit Liverpool, Liverpool Culture, Metro Mayor Liverpool City Region, Chess Trust, & John Robinson Youth Chess Trust
The World Champion showed the true meaning of "Win with Grace"! He has the heart of a warrior! Knowing that he was in big trouble both on the board and on the clock, he fought as hard as he could to survive, and was rewarded with a big victory! 👏
Fantastic success for the She Plays To Win Lionesses in the 4NCL National League.

It’s been a week since the KE Community Christmas, and we’re still feeling festive! @KEHSOldEds 🎅🎄
It was wonderful to see our whole community off pupils, parents, and Old Edwardians, come together to celebrate the season and all things KE! 🤝✨
Add to it that we are one of the very few countries who is taxing hard working citizens in the name if VAT for educating their children privately despite paying the income taxes 🙄
So you’re telling me that:
- Income Tax
- National Insurance Contributions
- Corporation Tax
- Capital Gains Tax
- Council Tax
- Value Added Tax
- Excise Duty
- Fuel Duty
- Stamp Duty Land Tax
- Air Passenger Duty
- Insurance Premium Tax
- Green Taxes (Includes levies on energy bills or vehicle emissions, like road tax).
- Gambling Taxes
- Plastic Bag Charges
- Carbon Emissions Levy (embedded in energy costs for businesses and indirectly passed to consumers)
- Landfill Tax (paid by waste management companies but often reflected in local authority charges)
- Television Licence Fee
- Congestion Charges
- Soft Drinks Industry Levy
Isn’t enough to fund public schools, public services, roads, etc? They also have to apply a death tax and charge your kids on money you’ve already paid tax on? 🤡🌍
@uk_dhl I sent a parcel using ‘Next day Saturday’ guaranteed delivery on Friday the 16/08, paid extra for a guaranteed delivery on 17/08. My parcel has still not reached its destination. Being a small business, we rely on timely delivery of products. Really disappointed!
Take a good look.
This is the face of a sportsperson who was being heckled on the field and roasted on social media a very short while ago.
His tears came from seeing redemption.
Because when that picture was taken, he was a hero again.
For having bowled the nerve-wracking last over in the #T20WorldCupFinal and being one of the key players in achieving India’s victory.
The moral? Whenever life deals you a blow & knocks you down….
You can, and will, Rise again…

@PolitlcsUK@Telegraph So average day fees £15k 20% extra makes the government £3k. If kid leaves private school are we really supposed to believe it cost less then £3k to educate a child in the state system. Plus eligible for school transport as well! Absolute madness .. numbers don’t add up.
@PolitlcsUK@Telegraph Basically state schools will suddenly have to take a load of extra kids whose parents can’t afford the extra 20%. Those state schools are already struggling with the intake and lack of funding. It’s only going to make things way worse for everyone. This can’t be a day 1 policy
Little does he know Private schools are also attended by children of hardworking families who saves every little penny to be able to afford the fees, and by the bright children who secures scholarships and bursaries! It is only going to make private schools further more elite!
