Anyone abroad that says living in Nigeria is better than abroad, tell the person to go back home” — Man says as he proves Japa is better than staying in Nigeria
Mata became unhappy and furious when Mourinho substituted him. This match eventually ended up as his last appearance for Chelsea.
Mata was so talented for Mourinho to let him leave for Man Utd just like that.

Sad Realities About Accounting Degrees for Nigerians
One sad reality about Accounting in Nigeria is that it isn’t a globally mobile profession.
If you relocate to the US, Canada, the UK, or most parts of Europe, you can’t just “continue” from where you stopped.
You have to start again.
Not because you’re not smart but because accounting, tax and financial reporting are highly localized professions.
IFRS vs GAAP.
US Tax vs Nigerian Tax.
Federal vs State regulations.
Compliance vs Audit vs Advisory.
Every country protects their accounting sector through licensing, regulation and national tax rules.
This creates 2 big problems for Nigerian accountants:
(1) No direct global remote pathway
A US company cannot outsource their accounting or tax work to you if you don’t understand:
US GAAP, US Corporate Tax, State Tax, Payroll, Compliance & filings, IRS rules.
So even remote global roles are gated.
(2) Migration resets you back to zero
A Nigerian accountant relocating to the US will likely restart as Accounts payable clerk, Payroll clerk, Junior bookkeeper, even retail before rebuilding through certification. At to get any of these, citizens or individuals that have education in the country will be prioritized first before you.
If you must study Accounting in Nigeria, add flight to your wings:
1. Data Analytics
2. Financial Modelling
3. Power BI
4. SQL
5. Corporate Finance
6. ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks)
7. ACCA or CFA
That is how you step into roles like:
✓ Financial Analyst
✓ Business Analyst
✓ Product/Commercial Analyst
✓ FP&A
✓ Strategy Associate
Those have global, remote and cross-border pathways.
A Nigerian accountant is not unemployable, they’re just locked inside a domestic regulatory cage.
If you don’t want that cage to define you, don’t graduate with just a degree.
Build globally convertible skills too.
Wizkid shouldn’t have said he’s bigger than Fela; he should have just replied Seun Kuti directly. The Grammy Wizkid won, was it for his vocals? It was heavily influenced by Beyoncé, and this same Beyoncé has always given respect to Fela. Fela’s song Zombie was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. All of Wizkid’s songs won’t be inducted into the Hall of Fame till he d!es, no be about “she tell me say she tell me say.” His biggest song is Essence, and if Essence is ever inducted into the Hall of Fame, it will be with Tems not him alone.

I found out this morning when I was about going to work that three of my car tyres were slashed overnight. Honestly, I don't know why anyone would do this to me. A whole three tyres on a Monday morning! That is an unbudgeted £150 that I'll be coughing out this morning.
Well, I dey "fọga" (vulcaniser) shop sha. And I've called them at work that I'm mentally traumatised because all my tyres were slashed overnight by an unknown person and my manager asked me to take a day off.
My parents invested via a registered education savings plan from when I was 4 til I was 16. The money grew so much that my undergraduate degree, my sister’s undergrad degree & her law school were covered by the funds. And there’s still money left!
