Still living in a museum.

The world moved to #5DaysBanking
India moved to UPI, AI, fintech, and digital everything.
Yet banking employees must still prove that rest improves efficiency.

Apparently, in our system,
servers can work nonstop,
apps can run round the clock,
but humans must stay “available” to justify progress.
A #Implement5DayBanking is not a luxury.
It’s not a demand.
It’s a global norm.

So the question is simple:

Public sector banks lost over 50,000 employees in the last decade, while business volume surged multiple times, forcing fewer officers to handle exponentially higher workloads and stress. Studies show chronic overwork and staff shortages are major causes of burnout and mental-health decline among bankers.

Banks are turning into graveyards of mental peace, where officers sacrifice health, family life and dignity to keep India’s financial system alive. Can a prudent nation afford fatigued minds deciding the fate of crores of public money?

Five-day banking is not a luxury—it is an urgent necessity. A humane reset. A safety valve. A lifeline for families.
