The thing about democratic decline is people imagine it announces itself with one defining event. But its usually a series of escalations until one day you look around and realize you've become accustomed to things you would once have thought impossible.
I was at Mathare today.
When the state arrests a citizen and cannot account for where he is, we have crossed a line that no democracy can afford to ignore.
I stand with Davis Lichuma's family. I stand with every Kenyan who refuses to look away.
Ruto, where is he?

Silence is complicity.
Collins Ochieng, Muteti Mulinge, Michael Ngigi, Elisha Alam, Fredrick Ojiro and Christine Walubengo, who went missing after being arrested during yesterday’s #JusticeForOurFallen procession, have been found abandoned by the roadside. They are currently receiving medical treatment after alleging that they were beaten and subjected to torture while in custody.
These allegations of torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment demand an immediate, independent and impartial investigation by @IPOA_KE and @HakiKNCHR and those responsible must be held accountable.
Davis Lichuma remains missing. The @NPSOfficial_KE must immediately disclose his whereabouts and ensure his safe release. Every passing moment without answers heightens concern for his safety. #JusticeForOurFallen #EndEnforcedDisappearances
