As a crypto analytics company, we couldn’t agree more. Been meaning to write about this but @mert has been saying it best 😅 making decisions on incorrect data is exponentially worse than no data at all. Instincts are directionally correct a lot of times too
ironically, over-relying on data over instinct/taste is a great recipe for mediocrity
data alone is useless
only when you can interpret the data through a theory can it tell you something
My unpopular opinion is that 99% of ppl should not be using "data" to make decisions
Most ppl have the math skills of a coffee table but they're expected to interpret complex data that is often nonlinear and impossible to interpret without context
always leads to false info
instead, always default to reason and logic — which is a prerequisite for interpreting data anyway

Noticing a probably not new weird phenomenon where things that are very big deals, the market and narratives act like they are NBD and things that are actually no big deals the market and sentiment act like they are BIG deals. Is there a name for this?
$ton Is roaring and for good reason. Very promising thesis, onboard 900m people where they already are. for context @coinbase only has 100m. TON could be doing what base and meta tried/are trying to do.
A supposed non issue with blockchains but those present additional issues of complexity and accessibility and for non transactional data would still need to trust the source.
Precisely, no pun intended. Data on social phenomena is almost always directionally correct at best. #trustthescience just doesn’t work the same for biology or human-based fields. Here’s to figuring out a better (not no) scientific process for non mechanical, non physical stuff.
Fascinating post about the possible trade-off between social science impact and research integrity - and the role of viewpoint diversity in squaring the circle.
A good re-listen after the #ethvsol#bankless debate on network effects. Obviously @KyleSamani represents a team Solana perspective, but none the less good insights and additional color.

Bruh how is ETH almost at 4k and onchain is this dead
The only use case for mainnet is bridging to tokenless L2's and restaking for airdrops and that's slightly concerning
Yes, people are using L2's (somewhat true) but you definitely want activity on mainnet for the burn
BREAKING: 51 VOTES! Senate just voted to repeal Gensler's anti-crypto rule SAB121 🎉
Key Democrat Senators broke party lines to vote yes.
Now Biden has to choose.
Does he choose anti-crypto and veto or let it pass?
His next move could cost him the election.
EigenLayer and restaking has been one of the hottest narratives of this cycle and with #eigen claims opening up today we will start to tell if this will find viable traction and meaningful use cases or if it was all airdrop hype, full disclosure we're rooting for the former.
