I finally worked a bit on @mesh_core this weekend, really interesting #LoRa #mesh protocol. Here are my findings.

@nono2357 @mesh_core A layer 3 does’t requires encryption / signature (ip doesn’t have). But app layers require. Compared to Meshtastic meshcore app layer can be extended easily. So it can be suitable for many secured usage by extending it. The MIT license is quite good for this

@nono2357 @mesh_core Globally the missing point here and related to the discussion you have is that Meshcore is 2 things:
- a layer 3 routing protocol (like IP)
- a multi application layer
This must be distinguished in a technical analysis.

@nono2357 @mesh_core I don’t see personal attack. It’s just fact. Non of the sz you just added is 237. the size of 184 comes from the LoRa payload sz limitation (1Byte coded). So that is the hard limit. For the rest u personally attack me and I just ask question and propose reader to make own opinion
