@Not_the_Bee I have both owned or worked with several as a trainer years ago. Can be the sweetest things one minute and then some switch flips and you’re in trouble. Most are too unpredictable and most owners can’t control them.
This is medical care these days. Not medical decisions, but logistical ones. Not what benefits the patient, but what benefits the insurance and the hospital.
Hospital: We know this medicine is helping him, but no rehab or long-term care will take him with it. We’re taking him off it so we can discharge him.
This is someone who could barely move two days ago, now walking with a walker down the hallway.
@DrJesseMorse This is the same for any medical care these days. You have to see several different specialists for one root cause. Everyone gets a piece of the pie. For some people their whole existence is doctor appointments. Horrible way to live.
I’m also tired of the pass the buck treatment. I literally had a doctor tell me that when things are good, they will follow a case. When it goes bad, they pass it on or refer it to someone else.
Medical care is a joke that’s not funny.
Hospital: You’re here for AKI. Let’s fix it.
Hospital: Time for discharge.
Patient: But my kidneys are worse now.
Hospital: That’s okay. You shouldn’t stay here too long.
@dpolehn My wife and I watch a show for about 45 minutes just about every night before bed. Just our tradition of relaxing and spending time together. Aside from a family movie once in a while, that’s it.
@ZackStrength Out of the house, I prefer Panera Bread’s coffee. After that, Tim Hortons, then Dunkin’ Donuts. Starbucks (unless it’s the Blonde roast) always tastes burnt to me. A good dark roast should taste almost sweet, not bitter or burnt. Just my humble opinion.
@mikeoniron This summer has been all about home improvement and yard work. Can’t wait for the winter to lift weights again and get a break. It’s a different kind of tired and sore.
You should look at the Ensure shakes they gave my father-in-law in the hospital. High protein (20g, 🤣). Said his premier protein shakes weren’t good. The Ensure was a lot of sugar for a diet controlled diabetic. His blood sugar went from around 120 to 180-200. But they were okay with that.
@BiggestComeback Our local Culver’s knows our family now because we order with no bun. It was initially a challenge, but they got better over time. Never any issues or weird faces though.
