(Warning: Distressing themes) A Pennsylvania woman is facing charges of wiretapping and filing a false report after going to the police to report that a military officer sexually assaulted her. The police investigation was seriously flawed, a sex crimes investigations expert tells local news organization PennLive. The accuser, 26-year-old Veronika Rodriguez, had recorded parts of the incident and provided those recordings to police. But instead of using them to investigate the alleged attack, police concluded that she had made a false report and used the recordings to charge her with two felonies for recording the man without permission.
