Yes, Nadhim Zahawi, there is absolutely something sick with Britain – and it’s the sheer brass neck of corrupt individuals like you who fleece the country for millions in unpaid tax, then lie through your teeth about your tax fraud.

Let’s not forget that in 2024 Zahawi – who had previously denied paying £5 million to HMRC to settle his unpaid tax - claimed he was being “smeared” by the journalists who exposed him. It was, he said airily, just a “careless mistake”.

Which of us hasn’t stuffed £5 million down the back of the sofa and forgotten it was there until the dog found it? It could happen to the best of us.

Really, the man is such a perfect match for Nigel Farage’s bunch of avaricious charlatans. Just another multi-millionaire with the morals of the gutter.
