@libraryoflilith@megannn_lynne So purple hat therapy is when a new (non harmful pseudoscientific) aspect is added to an established effective therapy (eg wearing a purple hat whilst doing cbt). The actual underlying (exposure) therapy of emdr is effective and not pseudoscience but the eye movement is
Terfs: it's hard being a woman and for you to want to be a woman is insulting to real women
-> stupid
Brainworm 4tranners looking at enbies or GNC trans people: it's hard being trans and for you to want to be trans is insulting to real transsexuals
-> stupid
@sapphmars@Shattubatu Also interesting: symptoms were associated with a lower level of oestrogen in the urine not progesterone changes which is what is commonly correlated with symptoms in cis women
@sapphmars@Shattubatu Short answer: some do, hormones are wild and we don’t really know why. Here’s a v small 2026 study where 1 participant reported experiencing monthly symptoms in an interview, but tracking found it was more biweekly, BUT she did weekly oestrogen shots. https://t.co/ZFTTMgbJuy
@THELIFEe7x9@Kuuhaku3993 Historically, we have, in order, ancient antisemitism (ethnic-think the Roman attitude towards Jesus), Christian antisemitism (religious) (Muslim antisemitism fits in here too but that’s too complicated for a tweet) and racial antisemitism (racial-think Nazis)
@THELIFEe7x9@Kuuhaku3993 A meta-analysis from Tel Aviv University found that these are the most common characteristics of offenders. Generally Christian white supremacists or politically-motivated (rather than religiously-motivated) Muslims. Probably the main English-language book is the Turner diaries
@charrlysa Very true and I also would not trust a chiropractor to safely use some physical therapy techniques, or fit different aids properly to make sure they help you rather than hurt you, or know how to use things like ultrasound machines
@charrlysa My dad hurt his back as a kid and the butcher offered to crack it. My father now has limited sensation in a few of his toes. The only difference between the butcher and a chiropractor is that the butcher didn’t call himself one. But there’s nothing stopping him from doing so!
@JitterbugJaz@deaflibertarian That’s a really interesting thought. Probably wouldn’t’ve been possible until globalisation bc regional variation would be significant. Now I’m thinking about a constructed international auxiliary language like a sign version of Esperanto and if anyone’s tried that
@JitterbugJaz@deaflibertarian That would never work because there is no one sign language. There are around 300 actually. Eg ASL in the US, Auslan in Australia, BSL in the UK.
