@MartinSLewis@mmhpi 👍🏼 It's an improvement, it's a small win. It's still a dire situation. 12 months up front makes no sense. How do they get away with that?
@benonwine Try @MetCC for advice on how to proceed. Must be depressing to know that you've tracked your stolen phone to a shop and the police have not yet assisted. 7 days!! Amazing it's still tracking there too! A trivial task for the met esp. if on the beat; walking past, it's 10min max.

As Susan Hall publishes her manifesto (with a £515 million hole in the finances) let’s not forget what a complete mess she made when leading Harrow Council.
@brianmoore666 A rare treat. Almost extinct in our society; this is a well preserved and beautifully presented example of the comma infused 'Rant array'. This letter should be archived.

@mhudack @hamilton_mcmc @OpenMedFuture@pmddomingos@Machine01776819 Thanks. Ok, you make a fair point & I don't discredit that the US has more opportunity in many respects. Not that it should bother anyone in the UK though. After all, the UK is still punching above its weight despite the mess it's got itself in economically and politically 👍🏼
@mhudack@OpenMedFuture@pmddomingos@Machine01776819 I do agree and take the point that salaries for the high earners in UK are drastically less than equivalents in US. Not clear on why that is, but my hunch is that it's to do with some sort of superiority dynamics more than true cost of living principles. David v Goliath.
@hamilton_mcmc @mhudack@OpenMedFuture@pmddomingos@Machine01776819 Mike's pov seems very skewed. Agree with Alina. You can't be serious; a c-suite; comparing their lifestyle to that of the average citizen. Come on man. Read the room. We're all finding it tough in this economy, and the cream ain't fresh for the rest of us.
@JuliusCezarrrr As for the US... Well, I've no knowledge on that. Wages seem to be higher. Risk vs reward though does not look attractive when it comes to rights of the employee.
@JuliusCezarrrr For most companies in the UK, SMP is a small price to pay with 92% of it usually reclaimed from HMRC. So the admin is high, but the cost is low. If they choose to pay more, then that's a great perk to the employee and probably a great retention tactic for the company. Seems good.
@JuliusCezarrrr @jburnmurdoch This just seems totally odd to me; to actively discourage people from entering higher education. It's hardly a manifesto from the polys to be bad establishments. You're slating a very large proportion of graduates too. Many (ex)polys are highly regarded. What's your beef?
