The 1957 Gazetteer of Gaya tells about the only Girls' High School in that district back then. My great-grandmother Tara was one of the founders of that school, then known as Kanya High School.
All the three institutions still exist, albeit under new names.

The next two pages mention the Saharsa College, too, where my grandfather, Prof. Sachchidanand Sinha was the first principal and my granny Mohini, the sole woman lecturer in those days. She went on to retire as a university professor in Gaya.
