@null_user_value @drsuffy It makes me worried for my vintage project as well. I’m not a car enthusiast by any means but I am trying to restore a 1927 Dodge Sedan. Having parts made is like pulling teeth. Not to mention that even the simplest information about antiques is quickly evaporating.

@MorosKostas Weight could’ve been an issue. Prior to the polymer guns in the 80s, full sized autos like the 1911 are considerably heavier than say a S&W K-Frame. Even today you dont see many police carrying full size, all steel autos.
