While I wish it were different, I'm incredibly proud to call myself American, there's nowhere else I'd rather be.

Something that is really important to me is reclaiming the good and wholesome image of the Confederate battle flag.

Unfortunately, over the years its image has been tainted by not only insane leftists, but also people who have co-opted the flag to push toxic hateful agendas. Flying the CSA flag along with Nazi flags for example.

HK Edgerton coined the phrase "heritage, not hate". In order to counteract the damage that's been done, we should be doing outreach into our local communities, charity fundraising, food drives, social events and alike. During these events, we should proudly bear her colors high and show everyone what we're all about. Additionally, any usage of the flag by groups that AREN'T heritage Southerners that use it as a means to push actual toxic and hateful agendas SHOULD BE LOUDLY disavowed by us. It's destructive to what we're trying to achieve by standing up for our birthrights.

Not only in social environments does the flag need to be recognized, but in legislative ones too. The flag must be removed from any databases as a "hate symbol". This will be one of the biggest steps in normalizing its use again in public and official spaces. We can do this by electing true Southerners into office who are able to enact these changes.

In order to dispel the toxic image that the Confederate battle flag has in the minds of the general public, work has to be done socially and legislatively. It won't be easy, the damage is great. I want to see the beautiful flag fly proudly at NASCAR, country music concerts, supermarkets, television, movies, and any other places the flag used to be shown with no problems again.
