₦3.1 trillion for Nigeria’s entire defence budget WHILE ₦11.2 trillion reportedly for pipeline security.

FACT CHECK / CLARIFICATION: NNPC’s 2025 audited accounts recorded approximately ₦11.2 trillion in receivables from the Federation, relating to advances and costs incurred on the government’s behalf, including oil and gas asset security. This is NOT proof that ₦11.2 trillion was paid to one pipeline-security contractor. The question remains: how much was spent specifically on pipeline surveillance, who received the payments, and what results did Nigerians get? We deserve a transparent breakdown. 🇳🇬 Four times the budget meant to defend an entire nation.

So, who got the contract? What exactly are we paying for? And where are the results? Nobody is saying don’t secure our pipelines. But Nigerians deserve transparency, accountability, and value for money. Because what is the point of protecting the oil if the people producing the wealth cannot feel secure?
