Babachir Lawal is not a man you can take at his word || Babachir Lawal wanted to be a vice presidential candidate.
According to Nyesom Wike, Babachir Lawal isn't a man you can always believe at face value. He openly sought to be Tinubu’s vice presidential candidate. Wike said, Lawal tends to use harsh words when things don't go his way. In 2023, he aimed to be Tinubu’s running mate but was disappointed when Kassim Shettima was selected. In August 2025, he told Seun Okinbaloye that Tinubu had offended him, and it's clear that the VP slot was the reason he used harsh words on Tinubu.
Given Lawal's history of resorting to unpleasant language when things don't go his way, it's no surprise how he acted toward H.E Atiku Abubakar. The former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, did everything to concede Adamawa for him, while he was working to make Atiku lose the primary. Reports indicate that Atiku lost three local governments in Adamawa State during the ADC Presidential primaries to Lawal’s preferred candidate in the ADC.

Biden: I know I’m not a young man… I don’t speak as smoothly as I used to, I don’t debate as well as I used to, but I know how to tell the truth. I know right from wrong. And I know how to get things done. When you get knocked down, you get back up
