@tskrishnan@balaji_vasan No sir, Tantris (Malayala Potti from Muttavila Madom in Trivandrum) do pooja only during Kumbhabhishekam. Daily poojas are done by Melshanthis belonging to Tulu Madhva Brahmin Community settled in Parassala and Neyyatinkara gramams.

@AjayendraBallal@tskrishnan@balaji_vasan Yes, the Melshanthi is Tulu Brahmin, whereas the Tantri who is performing the Kumbhabhishekam belong to Malayala Potti/Namboothiri community. South Travancore Namboothiris are called Malayala Pottis, they have “RU” ending to their names Subramaniaru, Kantararu.

@tskrishnan Ok sure sir. That way yes I think you are right. We don’t have Vimana’s per se. Though I should say from my observation inside the Antarala of circular Srikovils, the innermost sanctums are square and feature a Dravidian Vimana-type structure with little sculptures.
@tskrishnan Ok sir, because Idanazhi here fits the exact definition you provided- corridor between outer wall and inner wall of sanctum. If you know a detailed explanation justifying the difference, kindly enlighten me🙏
@tskrishnan True that. There is a folk story that Thiruvattar Adikesava (similar iconography) blessed Kottayam Kerala Varma from Kolathunadu to fight and drive out Islamic raiders (locally called “Mukilan Pada” (Mughal)) in South Venad.
@tskrishnan There is also an ancient Saptamatrika Shrine with Siva near the port atop a small mound. This shrine could have received patronage from Ay Royalty when Vizhinjam was an Ay fort. The Kerala Archeology department suggests it is one of the oldest temples in Kerala.
