Masters of the Universe needed to come out around the same time as the Michael Bay Transformers.

If it had come out in 2008 or 2009, it would have been a massive hit and may have even made a 2026 revival a hit as well.

It simply took way too long to come out and the cultural influence the IP once had has unfortunately faded away.

ROGUE ONE (2016) earns its ending by following through. The mission succeeds & the film refuses to soften the consequences. Every member of the team pays the price, which is exactly why the finale hits as hard as it does.

#MastersOfTheUniverse is to men growing up in the 80s/90s, what #Barbie movie was to women growing up in the 80s/90s. While it was entertaining in the veins of Thor: Ragnarok, I personally think it could have been a shorter movie. Also, I’d rather the humour be toned down…
