Giving full creative oversight to a guy who does not want Star Wars to evolve beyond the sandbox of static live-action adaptations of his cartoon characters might be the final nail in this franchise's coffin.
Love how both of these movies examine the idea of masculinity and power. Just because you "have the power" or you are a "super man", does not mean you are above anyone or that you can't be vunerable. Both movies proclaim, you will fail in life but try to never fail to be kind
It frustrates me beyond belief that audiences failed to show up for Masters of the Universe and Dungeons and Dragons because both deserve proper sequels we’ll probably never get 😞
One of the best side-effects of the new He-Man movie is that people are finally starting to see how stupid the pocket industry of hate-bait grifters actually are. They're desperate to complain about He-Man and fans are calling them out for it. The world is healing
Masters of the Universe needed to come out around the same time as the Michael Bay Transformers.
If it had come out in 2008 or 2009, it would have been a massive hit and may have even made a 2026 revival a hit as well.
It simply took way too long to come out and the cultural influence the IP once had has unfortunately faded away.
ROGUE ONE (2016) earns its ending by following through. The mission succeeds & the film refuses to soften the consequences. Every member of the team pays the price, which is exactly why the finale hits as hard as it does.
I've been saying it for a while now. MOTU is about what it means to be a man and finding a balance between brute strength and empathy... stuff that He-Man has embodied for 40+ years. Glad to see people finally ignoring the grifting haters.
Kindness. Empathy. Humanity = Strength
..an old song from Queen that I personally feel belongs in this movie, rather than the other franchise it was attached to before.
Visual: 9.5
Audio: 10
Plot: 8
Pace: 6.5
My overall experience: 7.5/10
#MastersOfTheUniverse
#MastersOfTheUniverse is to men growing up in the 80s/90s, what #Barbie movie was to women growing up in the 80s/90s. While it was entertaining in the veins of Thor: Ragnarok, I personally think it could have been a shorter movie. Also, I’d rather the humour be toned down…
Addendum: #MastersOfTheUniverse must be seen on the biggest screen; the visuals alone is worth the ticket! Not forgetting the eargasm that is @DANIELPEMBERTON soundtrack; the score drips nostalgia thru and thru. There's a kick*** song from @thedarkness and....
Only people who know how to drive will back into parking spaces.
We understand that it’s safer, easier, faster to exit, and the best part?
It annoys the people who don’t know how to drive.
Next week we’ll talk about the zipper merge.
People angry about this scene did not watch the cartoon. They're the same people who also get pissed at the He/Him joke. MOTU is goofy as fuck and I'm all for this level of silly.
La adaptación animada para Netflix de Masters of the Universe producida por Kevin Smith se llevó algo de hate en su día (para mí, injustificado) pero nos dejó momentos inolvidable y épicos para la historia de la franquicia como este del video. Menuda maravilla.
If Filoni is still in charge, you can bet your kowakian-monkey-lizard that Ahsoka and the Rebels team will appear in all of them, through that time-travel-in-anything-but-name World Between Worlds..
reboot Star Wars by either going to the past with The Old Republic or far into the future where the Skywalker saga is ancient history
something has to change because this aint working
