As a paramedic, I can’t count how many times I’ve heard: “I stopped getting the flu shot years ago, and haven’t had the flu since.”
It’s practically a running joke in medicine. Get the shot, get the flu. Most of us won’t touch it. And at my workplace these days, they don’t even bother enforcing it.
