Interesting point made to me:

If Ville Koivunen doesn't make #Pens roster out of training camp, that eight-year/$4 million AAV contract is essentially waiver-proof.

No one is picking up Koivunen on a gamble when he's got seven more years left on his deal.

The weirdest part about the Koivunen contract is Dubas hasn’t been wanting any contract on the books at the end of the likely Crosby era and out of no where 8 years for a solid AHLer that has yet to show he has to stick at NHL level
