Water has many different uses including hydropower. Hydropower is usually generated with dams that when being built can do a lot of damage to the ecosystem around it. @vahsapes#apeshydro
These are the solar panels at my house. We use them mainly to heat water, but also for other electrical purposes. Even though they are costly at first, they save money in the long run and are great for the environment! @vahsapes#apesenergy
Polluted runoff is really bad, and it's increasing. As rain water runs off our streets, parking lots, lawns, and other surfaces, it picks up pet waste, pesticides, fertilizer, oil, and other contaminants that get into our water.

My neighbors have solar panels on their house to get the subs energy for electricity. It’s expensive but a good renewable resource. #apesenergy@vahsapes
This is a pond in my back yard. If water sources like these are maintained well, they can offer extra biodiversity to the environment as they create more habitats! #apeshydro@vahsapes
SO many people throw away things that could and should be recycled. If everyone made a conscious effort to recycle, the world would be a much better place.

Waste can be recycled and reused in so many different ways! Recycling bins like these remind people how to distribute their waste, rather than just throwing it to the landfill. #apeswaste@vahsapes

Pesticides are harmful to the environment because they can get into our water, which has negative impacts on anything that drinks it. #apespest@vahsapes
soil is so important, and most don't realize it even though whenever we walk on the ground, we are most likely walking on soil! Plants like grass and trees need it to grow and survive because it has essential nutrients in it. @vahsapes#apessoil
Soil erosion is the wearing away of topsoil, the top, most fertile layer of soil containing the most organic, nutrient-rich materials. One of the main causes of soil erosion is water erosion. #apessoil@vahsapes

Root systems of plants like grass and trees help hold the soil in place during rain and wind to help combat erosion. This tree is not real other trees that are outside in the ground keep the soil in place during storms and windy days. #apessoil@vahsapes
