NEW: Person starts throwing large patio furniture off of the roof of a skyscraper in midtown Manhattan.

The incident reportedly happened on East 46th Street and 5th Avenue.

A wooden chair could be seen being thrown over the edge and smashing into the scaffolding below as people ran to safety.

After throwing the chair, the person started throwing what looked like planks of wood and what appeared to be a chunk of concrete.
