ورفيقتي في الحُزنِ والضحكاتِ
أمي وإن هجر الجميعُ مرابعي
بقيت لتزرع في الهشيم رُفاتِ
أُمي وإن نسيَ الجميعُ ملامحي

Dear Uche,
Thank you for your feedback. So many Nigerians like you have been upset about my defence of the Ajami script on the Naira and are accusing me of supporting the Islamisation of Nigeria. Listen, nobody can Islamise Nigeria. Nobody. Even in pre-colonial Nigeria, some of our people fought against it and prevailed. How much more so now? When Abia was looking for $125 million, who lent it to them? Was it not the Islamic Development Bank? Are you aware The Vatican has a bank? Why did they not give Abia the money? After all, Abia is heavily Catholic and Anglican.
I am glad you mentioned your leader. I believe he has said your people are of Hebraic Jewish origin. I have been to Israel. Are you aware that Israel's currency has Arabic on it?
Please find attached the 10,000 Shekel note printed by the Bank of Israel. Can you not see the Arabic inscription on it? I highlighted it in red for you.
Israel includes Arabic in all her currencies because 20% of her population speaks Arabic as a first language. I am not referring to Arabs or Muslims alone. These 20% include Jews and Christians whose language is Arabic. Their Bibles and Torah are in Arabic. They recite Scripture precisely the way Muslims recite it, by singing it in Arabic.
Now, in Nigeria, more than 20% of our population can only read in either Ajami or Arabic. They cannot read in the Roman script. But you want us to disenfranchise them and remove the only script they can read from our currency. Because they are sub humans? Are they animals?
Before the British colonised Nigeria, the Hausa, Fulani and other peoples in what is now known as Northern Nigeria were using only Arabic and Ajami script. They have been doing this for at least five hundred years. The ancient pre-colonial book, the Kano Chronicles, was written in Arabic. A lot of the elite from the North actually learn Arabic first at a Zaure.
It is English that is new to Nigeria, not Arabic or Ajami. And by the way, what you see on the Naira is just the Ajami script of Hausa.
Uche, if the country where you and your leader claim to have originated from includes Arabic in the currency, why shouldn't your own country use it?
Thanks again, and may God bless you.
