The key thing a lot of people miss about this:
Some kids with autism symptoms have cerebral folate deficiency. Blood tests (like the FRAT) show their immune system makes antibodies that block regular folate from getting into the brain, even if blood levels look fine.
Leucovorin (folinic acid) bypasses that block using a different pathway. Studies show it can help improve speech and symptoms in many kids who test positive.
Itโs not for every autistic child, just the ones with proven deficiency. Get tested and talk to a doctor.
