@carlosfnorena @DrMichaelJTayl1 Sorry to hear you’re sick. It took me 16 days to test negative when I got it last year. And longer than that to feel well again. I hope it’s not that long for you!
@ae_stallings Yes! Even though we’re only there 4 months a year, everyone remembers us & wants to know how we are - the vendors at the laiki, the butcher, the pet store people, the staff at the restaurant down the street. It’s amazing & wonderful & means so much
Sad news about Ramsay MacMullen today. I’ll never forget my very first AAH conference, feeling overwhelmed, when Ramsay went out of his way to comment on my work, help me make connections w/ other scholars, & sat beside me at the closing banquet. A true scholar & a gentleman.
THE CFP for my FAVORITE conference is closing Dec 16! It's a great venue for early career peeps. Very friendly supportive environment.
Maybe you want to present on one of these topics?!
* Ancient Responses to Environmental Change
*Invective and Economic History

@kataplexis I had a 4 hour layover (supposedly) in Chicago on my last return. Without global entry, I would have missed my connection. As it was, I arrived at the gate with only 10 minutes to spare. Totally worth it
@Lady_Historian Cook couscous in chicken/veg broth & 1 minced clove garlic. Put drained can of chickpeas, chopped tomatoes, scallions, almonds, corn/edamame in bowl with EVOO, lemon juice, S&P, parsley. Mix in cooled couscous, adjust dressing. Can sub other veg/protein/herbs according to taste.
Fantastic experience at the 16th Trends in Classics conference. Amazing people, really stimulating papers/discussion, super hospitality. Thanks to @lilywilli and the other organizers; I’m honored to have been invited to participate! https://t.co/Ek28CqDe21
