@MikeMcDonald22@mcclusk Lol, Actually bit of a fan, loved his game (& his kids games too) even though he was never really on a team I cheered for. Just saying any year he wasn't exactly top 5 (top 15 yes) but he got paid what a top star player gets now, 20+ years later. Little odd imo.
@ldl716 Needed the current roster overhaul, problem is in just about every team sport it can take awhile ( seasons) to get it all clicking. 50% of the lineup are new there. Hopefully new coach & players, new system & plans etc. All get in sync smoothly & quickly. Early mantra = Patience
@richarddeitsch Been a fan of yrs since you arrived. When PTS was axed gotta say you (& yr familys) situation was a concern. Wished & hoped the best for you, glad to see you made it work. You're a great journalist, deeply insightful & seem to be a top shelf fella. Cheers to you mon ami ๐ ๐
@ldl716 Its likely not over & probably will get worse. Every playoff deadline a market grows for Defensive D. Next deadline we'll be shopping (overpaying) 4 a D-man like him again. The 2nd disaster will see Carlo picked up by a rival team to stick it to us & hurt us in the playoffs. ๐
@SamAMcKee@DougMaclean True, honest, deep big brain Management thinking right there. @DougMaclean thinking 5 moves ahead as usual, great insight! ๐ ๐ ๐
@armdog Hopefully they give him Lane Hudsons rookie year nurture & development. Lanes first half+ of year 1 was (as expected) full of rookie mistakes on a nightly bases. For many reasons they kept playing him & that commitment payed off in spades into a fearless cerebral great player.
@SamAMcKee Reilly at the 4-6 D-Spot is your answer Sam. Reilly doesn't need to play 20 min. A night. 12-10min & 2nd line PP is a role he can properly play, the role he should have always had, not the 1 spot. At his age im sure its a role he wouldn't object.
The problem with R
@SensFan97_ Could agree with you but not fair when so many markets south & even here (Ottawa & Winnipeg) fan base won't support a struggling home team. Revenue sharing benefits from big markets to weaker markets should they not get a hand in maintaining their cash cow markets? #itwasrigged
@TerryDiMonte Yip, years of sadness walking around these type of stores and sports bars when we had no playoff caliber teams in the city. Great to know the coming years will be full of promising & profiting opportunities. ๐
@ldl716@bigheadhcky@tavkniesnythews Agree, Grit & glue guys, can't have enough of 'em, shutting down the other teams best when you absolutely need it done. I hope he comes back.
@ldl716 Same, same, same & same. I figure hes about mid 60's, hes seen probably double the Leaf crap you've seen (guessing yr in yr 30's ?) Well imagine being him & seeing they now gave the franchises keys for the next period to a kid with ALLLL....that ugly baggage. #iunderstand
@tavkniesnythews When yr Steve's age & been through 6-7 decades of Ballard, Dubas, Marner etc. Im thinking hes waaay "over" a lot. Infact not only does he seem to be just "over it" but instead downright frustrated & livid the franchise has been placed in the hands of someone w. sm ๐ฉ on his past.
@CarloColaiacovo "If it ain't broke don't fix it" you saying?!?!.....I bet the Habs coaching staff couldn't disagree with you more and will have the longest nights re-strategising between now & game 1 Wednesday.
@OffTheRosterPod True or not reminds me a bit of the deception of 93 Stanley Cup winning coach & government Senator Jacques Demeres who fooled everyone successfully hiding that he was actually illiterate. For those who don't know his story its a fascinating strange story. https://t.co/ucM8RQ2QZ9
