As a leader here are 3 things your team wants from you:
1. Direction: Provide clarity which leads to focused action.
2. Belief: Encourage and let them know you believe in them and what they can accomplish.
3. Trust: They want to know you trust them and that they can trust you.
Principals: If you require your teachers to share lesson plans a week in advance (or whatever timeline), do you share your faculty meeting plans with your staff a week in advance? Why or why not? (Serious question.)

While it's certainly natural to be disappointed in certain students and even angry, it does no good to complain about students to colleagues at school. When a teacher or teachers complain about a specific student, the appropriate response is to counter with positive comments.
