@bbum When you remodeled, did they completely remove the original wiring to the island? It's possible that in-slab pipe still is available for use. The trick will be to identify where the pipe is. I think they are generally in the same location - I can measure ours in the morning.

@bbum @KitchenAidUSA Bosch for us, purchased from locally owned University Electric. The prices are similar to big box, but service is fantastic. I also really like their install contractor (Stalie) - we did a diy install years ago, but this recent one they was way better.

@lizzybo I'm currently running through the Marvel movies in chronological order. I also likes Adjustment Bureau, Inception, Interstellar, Inglorious Basterds, Arrival, The Martian, and Ready Player One (the last two are better books, but still decent movies.)

@bbum I got the Anova Precision Oven for Christmas, and it's amazing. Heats fast, and is incredibly accurate. And the steam setting can theoretically replace my stick SV.

@KaiLopaka @Robin_Quon @SCCgov @HealthySCC ICU capacity also involves *people* - qualified and trained staff. Those people can't be educated, certified and trained in a mere 10 months. And pre-pandemic, California was already experiencing a nursing shortage. ICU capacity is not just a bed.

@nervous_jessica As you look at baby stuff, keep in mind that A LOT of that stuff gets used for a few months to a few years. And then parents can't get rid of these things. Freecycle, thrift shops or a local buy/sell groups may have many of the items you are looking for (skip the hygiene stuff)

@B18MJE @ScottAYeager @KariByron Small dogs are more likely to bite, large dogs are more likely to cause damage when they bite. All dogs can and will bite when (not if) triggered. All dogs should be properly trained and restrained in public spaces. Letting any dog off leash beyond a controlled area is risky.

@_LightningHawk Gorgeous! I garden a lot, but kill plants a lot. So no shame in losing them - do remove the dead plants quickly (so you don't spread bugs or plant disease.) Enjoy your harvest!

@gillianmsmith Echoing the strong and fast (comparatively) "bubblyness" of the sourdough. I started last fall with a library book called "Wild Bread" (has a companion site too) - this had a method where you just feed flour to your starter sitting on the counter twice a day, without dumping.

@KariByron I think people are finding the waste in being over-committed. Sitting still, listening to the world around you, and just taking a breath to appreciate how it actually is, and not the constant push to extend and over-extend everything in every way.
