@logicregulator@Chrisb_168421@FlaskedWriter Im not going to argue distinctions w/o differences with you. The NCAA has to say it didnt impact the integrity, or they'd have to open the floodgates to scrutinizing past games. Every instance of betting your own games should be an automatic perma-ban. I'd say it about OSU, too.
@nlzazik@vol_equalizer Its not what I think, its reality. Please list all conference and national titles in football that UT won this century. Keep in mind, Indiana has a natty, a B1G title, and 2 playoff appearances. Im pretty sure yall are 0-0-1 in those categories.
@chndlr64@NicoleAuerbach Could be. Never has. Listen, im done debating this with you. The entire college football landscape outside of Tech views this as a Rubicon. This ruling is the first in a set of events that likely changes this sport irrevocably for the worse. Enjoy your season.
@chndlr64@NicoleAuerbach Well, you're wrong. While this ruling only applies here, you will now see this kind of decision replicated anywhere it is needed. The judge gave him 2-games because that is what your program offered the NCAA to settle. Enjoy your season. This definitely wont hang over it.
@chndlr64@NicoleAuerbach Except in legal writing we use formats like CREAC or IRAC where we explain the applicable rule and justify the argument/decision. This judge didnt do that. Because he can't. He just said "This is my decision."
.@Bcarp3 on why the Sorsby situation is bigger than one player:
"Every time someone fumbles, misses a tackle, throws a pick... fans are going to wonder if the game is being rigged."
The integrity issue college football now has to answer.
@chndlr64@NicoleAuerbach Buddy, you know what else you need to demonstrate to get an injunction? A probability of success on the merits. The opinion doesn't even touch that. Lawyers know this and have been speaking on it for 2 days. It's okay, tho. Enjoy your season. Btw, it does say the NCAA cant punish
"When it comes to Brendan Sorsby, don't blame the NCAA. Or the judge. Or even Sorsby.
Blame Texas Tech.
No one is *making* them pay Sorsby. He crossed a line EVERYONE - even Tech - knows is too far.
They're the bad guys here."

@chndlr64@NicoleAuerbach The ruling was "This player broke an NCAA rule, but the NCAA cant punish him." So now any player can do it. You think a judge in Columbus will uphold the ban of an OSU player now? Go ahead and root for your team, tho. Im sure finishing in the quarter finals will be worth it.
@chndlr64@NicoleAuerbach Brother, it's not really about Sorsby. I cant predict what an individual will or wont do. A group, tho? Do you honestly believe that no players anywhere will try to shave points, throw games, etc. after this ruling? Remember, 99% of these guys will never sniff the NFL.
@mrjoshuaperry I have always been a college > NFL guy. Im holding out hope that this gets fixed on appeal prior to the season. I just dont know how you come back from this if he plays. Another wrinkle to this, how does w/e body eventually governs ball handle prediction markets like Kalshi?
