Exuberantly reactive mesothelial cells (with admixed macrophages) from pleural effusion of a patient, who is status-post chemo for hematologic malignancy.
59-year-old male with a history of FAP and total colectomy. He was on TPN at home and has opioid abuse. Histologic sections of the autopsy revealed the next findings:

Spherules containing colloid in a thyroid FNA. Sharp ball-like contour that may be highlighted by a basement membrane with evenly spaced follicular cells are noted. Microfollicles in contrast have an irregular outline with crowding and irregular spacing of cells @cytopathology
Indeed! This is THORACIC SPLENOSIS in a patient with remote history of traumatic splenic rupture. As suggested – here is CD8 IHC which nicely outlines splenic sinuses. And please see images below for key diagnostic features in the images – red pulp and white pulp.
Oral cavity cancer and enlarged cervical LN: FNA shows metastatic adenocarcinoma. The oral cavity biopsy revealed cribriform adenocarcinoma of minor salivary gland - associated with PRKD gene rearrangements.
This’s an attempt to collect benign mimics of malignancy in lymph nodes. I’m sure there’s much more so please feel free to add to the thread. #pathresidents@ECU_Pathology

Parotid FNA: This thick band-like pattern of basement membrane material surrounding groups of basaloid cells is characteristic of membranous type basal cell adenoma.
Cribriform-Morular Thyroid Carcinoma in a patient with FAP. FNA shows a large fragment with "Papillary and Cribriform" cytoarchitecture. Although now considered not to be a Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma (PTC) variant, most cases are dx as S-PTC or PTC on FNA.
One of my worst nightmares😵💫
