There’s a model in Memorial Hall at the Naval Academy of Col John Ripley climbing under a bridge to set explosives under heavy fire. I always wondered why he didn’t receive the Medal of Honor.
Decades later, I watched POTUS right this wrong. I’m proud to have a small part of this.
90% of the soldiers on the first boats to hit the beach didn't live to see the end of the day. Look at those faces. Some of them never made it to 18.
Never forget that they paid the ultimate price for our freedom. We live our lives the way we do because of them.
We need more Americans outraged over this! Our generation went to war against these terrorists and now it’s perfectly fine our government funds them. It’s like bizarro world, where did all the warriors go?
@JoeyContino I don’t expect our Allies to get involved in any combat actions. BUT,, we should be able to use OUR BASES on their soil for whatever we want.
For those that have forgotten … America is sending $40M weekly to the Taliban in Afghanistan.
In my opinion … The only reason why would could possibly be doing this is for Big Pharma and to help the Cartels in the poppy production for opium.
The bill to STOP this funding is lying on @LeaderJohnThune’s desk … like all the bills that benefit America, he is refusing to put them up for votes.
As a reminder … This $49M number comes from SIGAR (Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction) reports and related congressional testimony.
Since the 2021, due to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, U.S. withdrawal … the UN has flown in large amounts of U.S. dollar cash (at least $2.9–3.6+ billion total by early 2024–2025) to support humanitarian operations by UN agencies, NGOs, the World Bank, etc.
- These shipments averaged roughly $40 million per week in 2022–2023 (sometimes described as $80 million every 10–14 days).
- The U.S. has been the largest donor to these efforts (billions in humanitarian aid overall since 2021, with the U.S. contributing ~$2–3+ billion via UN/NGO channels in various periods).
The Taliban benefits indirectly due to the controls they have in place in Afghanistan:
- They control the central bank (Da Afghanistan Bank) and run currency auctions.
- Private banks and aid implementers often exchange the incoming dollars for Afghanis through these auctions, giving the Taliban-controlled bank a big supply of hard currency.
- The Taliban impose taxes, fees, duties, and “protection” costs on NGOs and aid shipments.
A SIGAR audit found at least $10.9 million in U.S. … funded money paid directly to the Taliban-controlled government in taxes/fees/utilities (likely only a fraction of the total, due to poor tracking by UN partners).
Broader SIGAR findings: Taliban interference, diversion of aid, and economic stabilization that helps their regime stay afloat (they’ve also printed currency and benefited from the stabilized afghani).
I repeat:
The U.S. sent thousands of its 19 years old soldiers to die in Normandy, to free Europe and to end the biggest crime against humanity ever commited - by Europeans.
It was just 81 years ago.
The whole reason, France, Benelux etc. 🇫🇷 exist today is because of this heroism.
My grandparents could grow up in a liberal democracy. Without the U.S. they would be raised at the H*tler Youth.
We Europeans would still be in wars again and again, like 1914, 1866, 1870, 1795 etc.
They brought peace, democracy, liberty and human rights. They invested billions of U.S. Dollars into Europe with the Marshall Fund. They gave us more than we ever had in our history before. They protected us for 7 decades with hundreds of thousands of soldiers against the cruelties of the Soviet Union.
The terror we can see nowadays in Donetsk, would have happened in Bavaria, Bourgogne or the Netherlands in 1950 if there wasn’t the U.S. 🇺🇸
Who do we Europeans think we are to let that nation down, act like bad allies, calling their President names every day on television - and have full confidence we stand better alone. All of instagram is just about, why we’re better than the U.S.
We owe them so much.
We Europeans are most arrogant species on earth. And to cure this we have to face the truth.
@ccarneym@SarahLongwell25 I agree he says stupid shit. And seems to be immoral person. BUT, his policies are spot on. Both at home and especially abroad. Biden although a nice man, was horrible. Gas and inflation were still higher under BIDEN with no war with Iran. Thats why people still vote for him.
