Elementary students should not be taking standardized tests because testing becomes the focus of education instead of learning. We take away their creative genius and excitement of learning, playing, & creating. We develop test takers instead of problem solvers and innovators.

2. Vulnerability is okay
3. Love them all (esp the most difficultโthey need you the most)
4. Smile/laugh often
5. Donโt yell ever (quiet is scarier & more effective/less traumatic
6. Passion is key
@Brooke_R_ @sjmherrick@Angry_Staffer That would be really frustrating. I get it. However, I donโt think that is the norm. Iโm a teacher in the Midwest and hear from a lot of former students. I can assure you, many, if not most, are struggling to pay their loans and not buying Channel bags and traveling the world.
@WeAreTeachers One time, years ago, I entered my classroom on a Monday morning only to find bird crap everywhere and one dead bird plus one in the ceiling. It could be worse! Hang in there!
