@KSuzanneG@DoorDash Uber is good about that -- the stacked orders go in the same general direction. So in the restaurant, lets say 3 orders come in, orders 1&3 get driver Bob, while order 2 still waits for a driver. Better for the driver, not necessarily
the customer.
.@DoorDash After many late deliveries, I switched to Uber. I just moved, and decided to try you again. Shouldn't have bothered. After an hour and a half, you still haven't assigned a dasher -- my food is getting cold, and my stomach is rumbling. #doordash#doordashfail
@KSuzanneG@DoorDash Besides being 100% against the rules of both platforms, it definitely makes the orders really late for the customers. And if one order goes 5 miles west, and the other 5 miles east, you're making so much extra work for yourself too.
@KSuzanneG@DoorDash That's actually another pet peeve -- drivers who run more than one app at the same time. I once had a driver come to my store, trying to pick up a DD and Uber order at the same time. He had two phones in his hands.
@KSuzanneG@DoorDash Back around Thanksgiving, they started cross-posting restaurants between both apps, so you might have ordered on PM, but the restaurant only had an Uber account, so it was delivered by Uber, or vice-versa.
@KSuzanneG@DoorDash Yeah, that was Uber. I actually don't order from chains much, prefer mom & pops. But I do look at the delivery fees and time estimates when I do order from chains.
@KSuzanneG@DoorDash Postmates has one foot in the grave. Uber bought them last year, and they are being transitioned over to Uber. So a lot of drivers have left Postmates for Uber, as a result, orders sit at my restaurant for sometimes an hour or more with no driver available.
@KSuzanneG@DoorDash In my app right now, for Wendy's. Notice the different delivery fees (they are really short drivers now) but also the ratings. Top one has a better rating (4.4) and is closer. As a driver, I can tell you they are a better store -- I've refused orders from the other one.
@KSuzanneG@DoorDash As a customer, I have all the apps. I tend to use Uber because they are the fastest. GH is the worst, I use them only for restaurant-delivered orders.
@KSuzanneG@FutureOffenders@DoorDash The bag thing never bothered me. As a restaurant, I'm supposed to report it, but I never do -- unless I'm thumbing down the driver for something else as well. As a customer, just deliver me the food. I doubt most drivers clean their bags anyways.
@KSuzanneG@DoorDash And also, sometimes the location 8 miles away has better service and the customer knows it. There's places like that I order from when I'm at work, more than one location shows in my feed, I choose the reliable one.
@FutureOffenders@KSuzanneG@DoorDash Hopefully none of these are you, but if they are, that's probably why the $3 was removed. I've never had a tip removed, and over 90% of my deliveries have tipped since the pandemic started.
@FutureOffenders@KSuzanneG@DoorDash I don't know you, or your area. But by me, there are too many bad drivers who bring down the reputations of the others. Things that make me reduce a tip: speakerphone calls or loud music blasted through my door at dropoff, constant lack of masks, bringing friends/children.
@FutureOffenders@KSuzanneG@DoorDash Fortunately, Uber penalizes drivers who abuse the cancellations and not-accepted orders. So you are less likely to be in this situation with Uber. I also work in a restaurant that uses all of these platforms, and we like Uber the best because the drivers are more likely to show.
@FutureOffenders@KSuzanneG@DoorDash Honestly, never had a problem yet. And on Uber, if I really wanted to, I could put a large tip on the order, wait for it to be delivered, and then delete the tip. But I would feel very scummy doing that.
@DoorDash_Help Will do. Also failed: system cancelled order, refunded it, and sent an email telling me I had an account credit. Logged in, and found the credit was only half there, had to call to customer service. Annoying.
@KSuzanneG@DoorDash In this case, Doordash didn't have drivers in the area. After my order failed, the wait time quote in the app rose to over 80 minutes for fast food places 2 miles away.
@FutureOffenders@KSuzanneG@DoorDash As an occasional UberEats driver, I understand that. But I refuse to tip ahead of time, because I do not know if I will get a good dasher. At least Uber lets you add/edit tips after delivery.
