CALLOUT: I'm looking for a family who has taken advantage of open enrollment to enroll their child(ren) in a school that isn't in their home district, for one reason or another. Feel free to reach out via dm!
Regardless of your opinion of this policy - I for one think this is a well crafted bill, especially given how the system is struggling right now - it's refreshing to see substantive education legislation make it out of the Idaho legislature instead of BS facebook fodder.
Idaho legislature sends the Empowering Parents Grant program to @GovernorLittle for his signature. Establishing a permanent microgrant for supplemental education opportunities! Congrats @wendyhorman & @lori_denhartog for empowering families! #education#fundeverykid

🚨NEW THIS MORNING: Governor-Elect @GlennYoungkin has chosen Aimee Rogstad Guidera to serve as the next Secretary of Education. She is currently the President of Guidera Strategy, and the former founder and chief executive of the Data Quality Campaign. @NBC12

The pandemic further exacerbated flaws and inequities in education, but has also ushered in new ideas for the future of public education. Case in point: our very own @jmjpickford and @dmrobbed assess microschooling in Idaho https://t.co/bzzzeLdSB7 via @YouTube
Many of my favorite Idahoans helped make this release possible. Grateful for the friends and colleagues I have here and for Jocelyn's collaboration @jmjpickford
I've read through the first 400 comments Lt. Gov. Janice McGeachin received about her education task force, which McGeachin released Thursday night after a judge ordered her to do so. I am calling it a night and stopping on this one. #idpol#allstar
Been thinking about this.
We've asked schools to take on considerable new roles. They're being asked to expand their food services, provide Internet and devices, address mental health needs, etc, etc.
But are schools the right entity to solve all these problems?
Reps. Nate, Nichols, and Scott just raised the most hypocritical and unprincipled series of objections I've heard in #idleg to interrupt debate they disagreed with after bloviating repeatedly on #CriticalRaceTheory for weeks including bills w/ o real nexus. #idpol#chickenshit
Rep. Scott moved to dispense with further reading of @GovernorLittle's letter regarding H 377 with less than a sentence left to be read. The ensuing debate took somewhere btw 5-10 minutes. Once reading resumed the clerk finished the letter in 5 seconds.
